Patriots, let’s talk about the facts.
Since the start of the Coronavirus Lockdown:
- Over 42 MILLION Americans have lost their jobs
- Over 100,000 small businesses have PERMANENTLY closed their doors
- The unemployment rate for African-Americans and women has nearly TRIPLED
- The average child has been set SEVEN-MONTHS behind academically
- Congress has added $3.7 TRILLION to the national debt in wasteful spending
We simply cannot afford to keep our country on lockdown anymore. We cannot afford to allow states to restart their lockdowns and continue to cripple the livelihoods of millions of families.
To do so would be to doom our country to the devastation we haven’t seen in nearly a century. It would doom our nation to be taken advantage of by Leftists looking to expand their power.
We don’t have to keep our great nation shut down to protect the most vulnerable among us from this dangerous virus.
We CAN and MUST #ReopenAmerica, but that won’t happen unless YOU take action. Contact your governor right now. Urge them to stay the course and help President Trump #ReopenAmerica!
In the meantime, check out the stories we’ve been following this week.

Media Begging for a 'Second Wave' |
|
|
Via RealClearPolitics
The media is churning out countless alarmist stories each day about the threat of COVID-19 and the dangers of societal reopening. "Risk of new lockdown rises with fear of second COVID-19 wave," writes Reuters, as one example of the genre. These stories generally incite, rather than inform. They cherry-pick facts and lack context. Only when the COVID picture is viewed in perspective are people able to make wise decisions about their actions. It should be safe for society to continue broadly reopening while directing resources to specific at-risk populations, such as nursing homes and prisons, which are more vulnerable.
The media has focused on increasing numbers of positive tests and hospitalizations in parts of the country to imply reopening is reckless. "Confirmed coronavirus cases have risen by double-digit percentages in 16 U.S. states that have gradually loosened restrictions since Memorial Day,” says Marketwatch.

Democrats Open Door to Marxist Totalitarian Rule Through Attacks on Police, History and Institutions |
|
|
By Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) Via The Washington Times
It has been said that Washington politics is like a NASCAR race, everyone is constantly making left turns. Democrats are turning left at 180 miles per hour while Republicans take the left turns at 120 miles per hour. Republicans need to stop racing. Get off of the track.
Don’t like that analogy? How about this one: Stop digging the hole, it is already deep enough. How about this metaphor: Democrats are kicking in the door to Marxist, totalitarian rule, while Republicans are turning the doorknob. Why do we always fight on the radical left’s turf? Democrats have gone hard left. We don’t need to follow them.

A Movement to Repeal and Replace 'Qualified Immunity' Is Brewing |
|
|
By FreedomWorks VP of Legislative Affairs Jason Pye Via Inside Sources
Last week the Supreme Court fumbled a tremendous opportunity to fix the doctrine of “qualified immunity” — the very mess it created decades ago. This policy has helped perpetuate police misconduct for more than 50 years. No other single reform is as critical in this moment. Qualified immunity is not grounded in the Constitution, its history or statutory text. Today, this well-intentioned creation of the courts has metastasized into near-complete immunity for any police wrongdoing.
We both have unique perspectives on this issue. One of us is a former police officer and the other was raised by one. We respect and appreciate the job that law enforcement performs in our communities. But we also believe in liberties protected by the Constitution, and demand accountability when government officials, including police, deprive people of their rights.

Dems Double Down on On-Size-Fits-All Health Care |
|
|
Via FreedomWorks Senior Policy Analyst Josh Withrow
Democrats are expected to vote early next week on a bill, H.R. 1425, entitled the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act.” The bill is exactly what it explicitly claims to be - a doubling down on the original structure of ObamaCare, with some extra patches added in. This is likely a foreshadowing of the push we’ll see to take the next step in expanding government control of health care should Democrats succeed in taking the White House in 2020.
ObamaCare, as we’ve often pointed out, was at its core an exercise in massive centralization, aiming to force as much of the private market in health care payments into a top-down framework as possible. We’ve all seen how that has worked out. Although of course a slice of the population did benefit from forcing insurance companies to offer uniform benefits and to have to cover all pre-existing conditions, insurance premiums on the individual market rose sharply, as did deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums, ultimately diminishing the quality of health care for all.

Stop the Madness of Congressional Spending |
|
|
By Chairman of FreedomWorks Task Force on Economic Freedom Stephen Moore Via Fox Business
The coronavirus shutdown has flattened multiple industries across America -- everything from airlines and manufacturers to hospitals, retailers, oil and gas producers, and restaurants. Many of the 30 million small and large businesses in the country have reported a 30 percent reduction in revenues. Amid the carnage, one sector of the economy is thriving like never before in the history of the republic: the government.
Congress has already spent more than $2 trillion on phases one, two, three and 3 1/2 of coronavirus relief packages. The latest irresponsible bill from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would raise that spending total to $5 trillion, which is on top of the $4.71 trillion that Congress already authorized. We are getting very close to an unfathomable $10 trillion federal budget, which is more money in one single year, adjusted for inflation, than the nation devoted to fighting the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, World War I, World War II and the Vietnam War combined.

1 in 5 Ballots Rejected as Fraud Is Charged in N.J. Mail-In Election |
|
|
Via RealClearPolitics
Following accusations of widespread fraud, voter intimidation, and ballot theft in the May 12 municipal elections in Paterson, N.J., state Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal (pictured) announced Thursday he is charging four men with voter fraud – including the vice president of the City Council and a candidate for that body. With races still undecided, control of the council hangs in the balance. Paterson is New Jersey’s third largest city and the election will decide the fate of a municipal budget in excess of $300 million, in addition to hundreds of millions more in education spending and state aid.
In the City Council election, 16,747 vote-by-mail ballots were received, but only 13,557 votes were counted. More than 3,190 votes, 19% of the total ballots cast, were disqualified by the board of elections. Due to the pandemic, Paterson’s election was done through vote-by-mail. Community organizations, such as the city’s NAACP chapter, are calling for the entire election to be invalidated.
