SERMON - INVITE JESUS TO YOUR GATHERING

YOU ARE THE CHURCH AND WITH ONE OTHER CHRISTIAN HE WILL JOIN YOU

Matthew 18:20   For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

As we are confronted by an deadly virus allow me to tell you how to meet with another Christian and conduct a 'church service' to worship and praise our Lord.

As Jesus Himself spoke the words    set forth in Matthew 18:20, He explained that He would be with His servants if invited.Simply ask Him to be with your gathering as you pray.

He will fulfill His promise and although invisible to earthly eyes assuredly He has joined you...

Picture in your mind the Person of Jesus Christ. Picture His human form as a 33 years old man with a full head of hair, neatly coiffed, brown in color and stately in appearance. See Him as a Person of averaged height and weight. See Him clad in a white robe. See his eyes as deep and inviting of your attention.

You must realize that our Lord is in your presence and most of all know that He is God and that you must treat Him as such.

Lower you heads as you say..." I love You with all my heart, all my soul, all of my mind and will all of my might."

You must mean each and every word of what you are saying as, after all, He is God and knows everything about you.

The next thing you must do is ask that your sins be forgiven. You must then tell Him of any sins (speak from you mind and heart, not with your earthly voice). Then you ask that He forgive them so as to allow you be in His presence clothed in robes of righteousness and worthy of His presence.

The next things you are to do is to voice any concerns you might have. Each person in your gathering should speak his/her concerns. (Even if children are present each is to be allowed to speak...)

After each person has voiced his/her concerns as a group ask Jesus to alleviate all of the concerns voiced and tell Him that He is loved for His being with you.

Each person present must Sincerely ask Jesus to strengthen the from the temptations set forth by Satan and to be with them forever.

 Acts 3:19   Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

All present must know that God is God and His time is precious. Allow Him to fade from your presence, after your gathering closes, while knowing He is with you forever.

2 Corinthians 4:14   Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

As you are in the presence of Jesus Christ  you can almost hear Him as He speaks the words He spoke during His time on earth.

Matthew 4:17   From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Indeed, His words are to be etched in your minds! To repent is to turn from sin and to the Lord.

Matthew 9:4   And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?

Think about what Jesus is saying to every man, woman or child...He knows you heart and you must surrender to His will.

Matthew 12:25   And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

Jesus is warning all who listen that our nation will fall if the division continues as it does at this moment in time.

Matthew 17:20   And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Jesus almost demands that we keep our faith in Him and reveals what is possible if our faith is strong!

Matthew 19:14   But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not

If children are present in your gathering know that the faith of a child is stronger than an adult as time, as a human, tends to fade if not exercised. To do this requires  that one stay in prayer asking that He strengthen you.

We must realize that Jesus, Who is in your presence, took it upon Himself to die a horrible death so that our sins might be forgiven through our repentance. This Person of God suffered flogging, excruciating pains and crucifixion for our sins. The greatest sin was disbelief in Him as a Person of God...

Matthew 28:18   And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Just as Jesus spoke to His apostles He is speaking to each and everyone in your gathering...

Mark 10:27   And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

You are to realize that nothing is impossible to Him and all things are possible to His followers whose faith in Him is rock solid...

Now that you have witnessed Jesus' presence know that each time you gather all you need do is invite His to your group and into your hearts!

Two hymns to sing as you are in Jesus' presence that are most applicable  are:

My Jesus, my Savior Lord there is none like You  ... My comfort Counselor Tower of refuge and strength with every breath that I breathe I want to worship You. So I  Shout to the Lord all the Earth, let us sing Power and majesty, praise to the King Mountains bow down and the seas will roar At the sound of Your name. I sing for joy at the work of Your hand Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand Nothing compares to the promise I have In You.  ...

'Mountains' are to be seen as men of power and 'seas' are His followers.

And as He is near bow your heads as you ask::

Lord please touch me, reach out and touch me and O the joy will fill my soul...Something happens when you touch me - You thrill me and make me whole...

Mark 14:62   And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Closing prayer

Lord, You have fulfilled your promise and sat with us as You revealed many things...Please know that Your presence was something that bought us great joy and enlightenment.

Abba, Father we ask that You be with us always and protect us from all evils.

Lord, we ask that You forgive our sins and allow us to enter into Your court at times of need Please know that we worship You and praise You in our hearts.

Lord, we ask that You protect our brethren who are the front lines battling this virus. Grant them the mercies and comfort them in their times of need.

Father, please protect our President and the members of his staff charged with our protection. Allow no evil to befall them.

We say this prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son and our Savior who is one with You and the Holy Spirit, One God forever and ever,

Amen, amen and amen...
