They are selling out their own residents.
“Californians care deeply about undocumented residents in this state,” said California Governor Gavin Newsom on Tuesday. He added that California is “not just waiting for the federal government to do that (virus stimulus payments for illegal aliens) for us.”
With that the leftist governor unveiled a plan to next month give illegal aliens direct cash payments because they are not eligible for virus stimulus payments under federal guidelines.
Thus as Californians try to deal with this national crisis, many of them will run into bureaucratic red tape in getting upgraded unemployment benefits or a federal stimulus payment. But no problems for illegal aliens. The governor is making a special effort for them. Why? Because he “cares deeply.” Yeah, he cares deeply about their potential votes for Democrats.
Republicans oppose the move.
“I see the state of California and its budget as a house of cards and with this coronavirus-induced recession, I’m just trying to figure out where the money would come from,” state Senator John Moorlach (R-Costa Mesa) told the AP. “I would say helping undocumented would be a luxury item.”
Nobody is out of the woods yet in this national crisis. Infections and deaths could still appear in California at a greater rate than is currently the case. Also, given its place on the west coast and thus proximity to Asia, the state could be more at risk than the rest of the country.
Hospitals have closed down in the state and public coffers were stretched to the limit before the virus. That was due to a great extent to the financial strain of dealing with illegal immigration. But no matter, illegals are a priority for Newsom.
LifeZette spoke to former CIA officer Shelly Mateer who lives in Southern California, “We have a lot of problems in this state. And now the governor wants to give money that could be used to deal with those problems to illegal aliens. In my small town alone you can’t find a mask to buy. But my county, San Bernardino, and a neighboring county, Riverside, have just said that if you are caught outside without a mask you could risk 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Both counties have over two million people each and we have had only 16 deaths from the virus, Riverside has 18. And we’re locked down. Is this America?! And now, more taxpayer cash for illegal aliens. Just great.”
