ALLIANCE ALERT 06/07/2019 WASHINGTON STATE SUPREME COURT IGNORE SCOTUS RULING!

Washington State Supreme Court: Round II, and Still No Freedom for a Florist and Her Beliefs
barronelle4-blog-111516.jpg?sfvrsn=69f479f_0It was the second round at the Washington Supreme Court in State of Washington v. Arlene’s Flowers. And almost a year passed before the Court repeated most of what it said before, which boils down to “no freedom for a florist to live out her faith.”
Instructed by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2018 to revisit its 2017 ruling against Christian florist Barronelle Stutzman, the state high court repeated verbatim much of what it had said two years ago, again stripping away Barronelle’s freedom to live consistently with her faith.
The case—which Alliance Defending Freedom plans to appeal once more to the U.S. Supreme Court—had been sent back to the Washington Supreme Court for review in light of the 7-2 decision in Masterpiece Cakeshop v. Colorado Civil Rights Commission, where Justices reminded government officials that there is no room in the Constitution for government hostility toward religion.
But, from this week’s ruling, it certainly seems that the Washington Supreme Court did not clearly hear the U.S. Supreme Court’s message.
Let's take a look

AmazonBdg-1250x650.jpgImage source: NurPhoto/Contributor/Getty Images via The Daily SignalAmazon is a billion-dollar company with customers and employees all over the globe. Its charity program, Amazon Smile, allows customers to shop as they normally do, with the added benefit that 0.5% of their purchase goes to the charitable organization of their choosing. That is, unless the organization they support is on the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center's so-called "hate list." ADF Vice President for U.S. Legal Advocacy Jeremy Tedesco reveals the myriad problems and turmoil now erupting at the SPLC, from losing its most senior leaders to the internal corruption that has recently been exposed. In light of this, Tedesco says it’s time for Amazon—and everyone else—to stop relying on the SPLC.

This is one of many steps that the Department of Health and Human Services has taken to ensure that tax payer money does not go toward funding abortions. While this decision directly affects National Institutes of Health use of human fetal tissue, the HHS has also stated it will rigorously review future federal grant applications.

Rasmussen Reports: Most Oppose Transgender Athletes on Opposite Sex Teams
girlontrack-blog-022819.jpg?sfvrsn=57d4a56d_0Image source: Alliance Defending FreedomSupporters of the so-called "Equality Act" might want to listen to the American people before pushing the legislation. According to a Rasmussen poll, 54 percent of randomly selected respondents oppose allowing biological males to compete in female athletics, leaving 18 percent undecided and only 28 percent in favor. But that is exactly what the mislabeled “Equality Act” would do: allow men to compete in women’s sports—and more than a few female athletes have expressed that competing against biological males is "demoralizing."

WORLD: North Carolina House fails to override veto of pro-life bill
RoyCooper_0.jpg?itok=G4UGEeGuImage source: Associated Press/Photo by Cliff Owen via WORLDAfter North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed a bill that would protect babies who survive abortions in the state, the North Carolina House of Representatives failed to garner enough votes to override the veto. This means vulnerable children who are born under the worst of circumstances will be at the mercy of physicians who are attempting to end their life. This is a deeply disturbing step back for protecting the unborn. A similar bill has failed multiple times at the federal level, and progressive politicians are pushing for abortions up to the moment of birth in various states.
