CONSERVATIVES:
Every year, Democrats in Washington threaten to blame Republicans for causing a government shutdown if they don't get their way in the annual spending bills. And every year – just like clockwork – Republicans surrender and run for the hills.
But not President Donald Trump. Not this time.
The president made it very clear yesterday that he's not afraid of being blamed for a government shutdown and that he is going to do his part to shut down the Democrats' obstruction of border wall funding.
This is what true leadership looks like, and every freedom-loving American needs to take action to support the president.
Republicans are never going to succeed in pushing conservative policies until they face their shutdown fears. At some point, they have to take a stand, win the argument with the American people, and force the Democrats to back down in critical budget fights.
Now is that time.
Please join this fight by sending an instant message to the White House letting the President know that you stand with him in this fight and will do your part to help him win it.
Here's what the president said to Chuck Schumer (D-NY) yesterday:
"I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck, because the people of this country, don't want criminals and people that have lots of problems and drugs pouring into our country. So I will take the mantle. I will be the one the shut it down."
Finally, someone is standing up to the liberals and refusing to be bullied by their scare tactics! Finally, someone is refusing to let them hold the priorities of the American people hostage.
If the Democrats care so much about the government being fully funded, they can support the president's request for border wall funding. Otherwise, they can explain it to the voters.
We will continue to give you instructions on what you can do strengthen the spines of Republicans in Congress and to pressure Democrats to defend our borders.
But today, the most important thing you can do is tell President Trump you support him in this critical fight.
The swamp in Washington thinks that they can get away with failing to fund the border wall because Americans are distracted during the holidays. Help us prove them wrong. Stay engaged and help us win this critical fight which has implications far beyond the border wall.
