President Trump has vowed to stop the invading horde of illegal aliens heading to our southern border via caravans from Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador. Trump views this as a national security threat and he’s right.
Enter ‘Operation Faithful Patriot’ and Trump’s promise to send somewhere between 10,000 and 15,000 of our armed troops to secure our border against this invasion. Originally, 5,200 troops were to be split and sent to Texas, Arizona, and California. President Trump said on Wednesday to a pool of White House reporters that he may send upwards of 10,000-15,000 troops to the southern border to deal with the horde of mainly military-aged male migrants marching through Mexico to the United States.
“As far as the caravan is concerned, our military is out…we’ll go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel, on top of Border Patrol, ICE and everybody else at the border,” Trump said, according to Reuters.
Earlier this week, the military was to deploy 5,000 troops to the southern border in anticipation of the migrant caravan in a mission dubbed ‘Operation Faithful Patriot.’
According to the Wall Street Journal, 1,800 troops will go to Texas, 1,700 to Arizona and 1,500 to California.
Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis gave the perfect response when asked if sending troops to the border is a ‘political stunt.’
Fox News reporter: Defense Secretary Mattis asked if the deployment of more than 5,200 troops to the southern border was a ‘political stunt’ ahead of the midterm elections: “We don’t do stunts,” Mattis replied.
