Brian Mast was elected in 2016 to Florida's 18th district with the support of grassroots conservatives.

Since his election he has worked to help veterans get the support they were promised while helping pass laws that took taxpayer money away from groups that support terrorism.

He was the first Congressman to open a constituent office in a VA hospital.

Mast supported tax cuts and he fought against sanctuary cities and amnesty.

But a Democrat activist in his district doesn't like Mast and was arrested and indicted for multiple threats called into his office.

Grand jury indicts man on charges he threatened to kidnap, kill Rep. Brian Mast's children

A man was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday on charges he threatened to kill U.S. Rep. Brian Mast's children over Trump administration immigration policies.

Laurence Key, 68, of Stuart, was charged with communication of a threat to kidnap or injure a person.

Key was first arrested by FBI agents June 18, hours after an intern reported he threatened to kidnap and kill Mast's children, a girl and two boys, all younger than 8.

"I'm going to find the congressman's kids and kill them" Key said on the phone with the intern at Mast's Washington office before hanging up, according to a federal complaint.

Records revealed Key had contacted Mast's office 478 times before.

“Key’s social media pages show he is very politically active,” according to WPTV. “He volunteers regularly for the Democratic Party of Martin County and has volunteered many hours for Planned Parenthood."

Mast has always put sacrifice and service first. He joined the Army at a young age, becoming a leader and serving under the elite Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) as a bomb disposal expert. 

"While on his last deployment in Afghanistan, Mast was tasked with protecting his brothers from IED's on a nightly basis. While he was able to detect and destroy most, the very last IED Mast found resulted in him sustaining catastrophic injuries, which included the loss of both his legs."

Now Mast is helping his fellow veterans receive what was promised to them while backing conservative principles like cutting taxes and securing the border.
