And what blows my mind is that about 5 - 6 years ago I read that comm’l ag uses about 70 - 75% of water vs what I had believed to be the reality. I had no idea of the percentage magnitude of water usage, just that I thought humans were responsible for most water consumption. This is the split I have read about regardless of geography. The Great Plains / TX, CO, KS, OK Ogallala acquirer has been draining faster than it can be replenished for about decade or longer as a result of pop and comm’l ag / ranching. I have not read any study regarding percentage split usage between population and ag, but I would bet think the
ag and ranching split is similar to Cali percentage.
Definition of cognitive dissonance: denial of unpleasant factoids / firmly held beliefs; apathy.
Cape Town, South Africa will run out of water by May this year. I had no idea it was 4
million people. It will / would be first major global city to do so, but there are quite a large
number facing similar prospects. CA is now 39 - 40 million, the illegal and legal alien
population is NOT decreasing thanks to leftwing pols. Except for immigration, net
population loss is the state’s status.

True, but do you really think there is a viable alternative, as in a realistic alternative. The fact that nothinghas happened to address this enviro issue issue for 40+ years leads me to think nothing will happen. It’s kinda like seeing or hearing Libertarians @ 2 - 3% of the population voting and thinking their vote really makes a difference. Ditto the Green Party.See what I am saying. Literally, 90% of the pop doesn’t give a damn ‘cuz it ain’t gonna happen.’
