LAS VEGAS COUNCILWOMAN MICHELE FIORE (Ward 6) NEWSLETTER
On September 05, 2017,
We commemorated remembrance of 9/11 at our Northwest Area Command with fellow patriots. We will never forget....
Dear Friends,
There's so many exciting things going on up here in the Northwest! We opened our YMCA office Monday, September 11th, and started our first Monday's with Michele, it was a blast! I met so many wonderful people and had true heartfelt in-depth conversations, covering an array of topics such as, politics, partisan politics, non-partisan politics, religions, race, neighborhoods, family court, HOA's, school drop off areas, curbs and streetlights and so much more. I'll be hosting Monday's with Michele a couple of times a month. Our next one is scheduled for October 9th, from noon to 6:00pm.
Before I go on, I must let you know that if you join my official City Council email blast, you'll get all of our City of Las Vegas News, agendas, planning commission meetings, who's applying for what, what's being built in your neighborhood and so much more. So click here and sign up.http://eepurl.com/bV8fqj
Now let me share some of the other things we've been doing in our Ward and the places we've been visiting too. We still have so much to do and many more places to go.
My staff and I toured Creech Air Force Base a couple weeks ago and were amazed at what our Creech men and women do every day. It was almost like walking into an "Iron Man" movie! It was a great experience to see the amazing technology used and pilot an RPA (Remote Piloted Aircraft) myself with Chance Bonaventura being my wingman. We have more than 1,500 of our military employees from Creech AFB that live right here in our ward.
Aug 30th, we delivered school supplies to all of the schools in Ward 6, to help our students that could use some extra supplies. It was a fabulous day!
Sept. 6 we held a meeting for the residents of our Silverstone community to update everyone on what we, the City of Las Vegas, is doing and has done for their interests, and discuss their concerns involving their golf course. We are with the Silverstone residents 100%.
With all the lovely rain we've been having, we were rained out for our movie in the park night featuring the new "Beauty and The Beast," but we’ll be showing it again in April – date still to be determined!
Our next movie in the park will be, October,Friday the 13th. We'll be showing "Casper the Friendly Ghost"
Sept.12 was my first day on the Workforce Connections Board. I’m looking forward to strengthening the workforce development system through innovation in training, education programs and promoting economic growth.
Visited with Derek Stevens and his fabulous Hotel & Casino "The D". Mr. Stevens is a party! Thank you.
