Glory,
hallelujah! The Texas State Board of Education has heard the outcries
from thousands of Texas parents who are outraged over the Common
Core-aligned way math is being taught to their children. The SBOE is to
vote on an amendment at its April 18
meeting “to remove references to mathematical process skills [i.e.,
Common Core-aligned methodology] from knowledge and skills statements in
the mathematics Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).”
Now is the time for Texas parents to contact the SBOE and ask them to vote “yes” on this amendment -- http://tea.texas.gov/About_TEA /Leadership/State_Board_of_Edu cation/Board_Members/SBOE_Memb ers/ – Donna Garner]
