Note: The article featured below is a testimony of how governments
treat criminals and activists differently. While a sex offender, or drug
dealer is afforded bail and a speedy trial, the political activist is
denied his/her 8th amendment almost every time in America. In other
countries, they're just assassinated.....and we are so blessed to be
Americans where that would never happen? Think again. Lavoy Finicum is
an example of being too outspoken and murdered by Law ---Dave Bertrand

How the Government Treats a Political Prisoner
by Shari Dovale
The 8th
Amendment states (in full) “Excessive bail shall not be required, nor
excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”
It
is very clear that everyone is to be treated with respect and fairness.
It does not differentiate between gender, race, financial standing, or
political parties.
Not,
however, in the United States. We have the right to Freedom of Speech,
as guaranteed by our First Amendment. Many countries around the world,
including “Democratic” countries, have very strict penalties for
insulting the heads of state, or disagreeing with the government. Penalties range from hefty fines to long imprisonments.
So, why is it that a political prisoner can be treated worse by the government powers that be? Criminals are released to offend again. Violent offenders are offered bail.
Yet, anyone the government sees as political radicals, such as the
Bundy’s and those that agree with them, have been continuously
imprisoned for their public disagreements with the federal authorities.
After the well-documented standoff in Bunkerville, in which no shots were fired and the only people harmed were done so by the federal agents, the government did not consider the Bundy family a threat. They were left to continue their life as they saw fit.
Two years later, after son Ammon Bundy called for a protest at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge
outside of Burns, Oregon, federal authorities arrested all of the Bundy
men and many of their supporters. Several of them have been
incarcerated, as of this writing, for over 15 months.
They have been denied bail. They have been beaten and abused while in jail. They are still awaiting trial.

US ABM shield in Europe may lead to sudden nuclear attack on Russia, Moscow says
RT - The US’ ABM sites in Europe and on warships patrolling Russia’s borders are creating the potential for America to launch an overwhelming surprise nuclear strike on Russia, the Russian general staff said. The presence of American ABM sites in Europe and ABM-capable ships in the seas and oceans close to Russia’s territory creates a powerful clandestine potential for delivering a surprise nuclear missile strike against Russia,” Viktor Poznikhir, deputy head of operations of the Russian general staff, told a disarmament conference in Geneva. The Conference on Disarmament being held in Switzerland over five days this week is an international forum focusing on global security and the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction with the participation of 65 member states. The US’ global antiballistic missile system is provoking a new arms race, Russia’s top brass has warned, adding that the US system, which includes sites in Alaska, Romania, and Poland, compromises Russia’s nuclear deterrence capabilities. Russia estimates that by 2020 the US will have as many as 1,000 interceptor missiles at its disposal, which would be a threat to Russia’s missile capacity.
Hungary Refuses to Take 5000 Migrants from Sweden
Breitbart - The Hungarian government has long held a position against the redistribution of migrants from other European countries going as far as holding a referendum on the subject last October. But Sweden is insisting that under European Union (EU) Dublin agreement rules, the migrants should be returned to the Central European country where they first registered, Svenska Dagbladet reports. Swedish Immigration and Justice Minister Morgan Johansson met with EU migration and asylum Commissioner Dimitris Avramopoulos in Brussels Monday to discuss the issue. After the meeting, Mr. Johansson said: “It is the Commission’s responsibility to ensure that contracts are kept, and this is our opinion that Hungary did not follow the Dublin rules.” “We have almost 5,000 cases where people are registered as asylum seekers in Hungary, but Hungary does not receive them when we send them back,” he added, claiming the EU Commission had a “duty” to open a case against Hungary for infringement of the Dublin agreement.
Internet Security Analysts: North Korea Is Planning a Global Bank Heist
Breitbart - The New York Times published a report from Internet security firm Symantec that revealed startling ambitions on the part of hackers affiliated with North Korea. According to the report, they have plans to rob over a hundred banks around the world, including “institutions like the World Bank, the European Central Bank and big American companies including Bank of America.” An attack on over 20 Polish banks near the end of 2016 was evidently thwarted without any money being lost. When security analysts pulled apart the virus software sent to these banks, they discovered a huge list of Internet addresses for other financial institutions, making up the target list described by Symantec…. Thus far, the biggest score for the North Korean operation appears to be a hack of Bangladesh’s central bank, revealed by Bangladeshi authorities in May 2016. The $81 million stolen from the bank ended up in the Philippines, but investigators were certain from early in the investigation that the thieves were not from either Bangladesh or the Philippines.
Japan ponders recycling Fukushima soil for public parks & green areas
RT - Soil from the Fukushima prefecture may be used as landfill for the creation of “green areas” in Japan, a government panel has proposed, facing potential public backlash over fears of exposure to residual radiation from the decontaminated earth. The advisory panel of the Environment Ministry on Monday proposed reusing soil that was contaminated during the Fukushima nuclear meltdown of 2011 as part of future landfills designated for public use, Kyodo news reported. In its proposal, the environmental panel avoided openly using the word “park” and instead said “green space,” apparently to avoid a premature public outcry, Mainichi Shimbun reported…. In addition to decontaminating and recycling the tainted earth for new parks, the ministry also stressed the need to create a new organization that will be tasked with gaining public trust about the prospects of such modes of recycling. To calm immediate public concerns, the panel said the decontaminated soil will be used away from residential areas and will be covered with a separate level of vegetation to meet government guidelines approved last year.
EU Governments Reject GM Crops in New Critical Vote
Sustainable Pulse - EU national government representatives failed on Monday to support the approval of three genetically modified (GM) maize crops for cultivation in Europe : two new ones and the only GM crop currently grown in the EU. While no qualified majority was reached, the number of rejections shows that GMO opposition clearly outweighs support.
Australia Training 4,000 Teachers to Root Out Sexism in Preschoolers
Heat Street - Four thousand teachers in Australia are to be put through a training program specially designed to help them root out sexism in pre-schoolers. The regional government in Victoria is developing a course to help educators spot children who “enact sexist values, beliefs and attitudes” from the age of four. According to The Australian, the new project will cost taxpayers $3.4million AUS ($2.6million US). A tender document released by state officials cites research showing that kids are already operating within “gendered norms” at pre-school and need “anti-bias” strategies to help educate them out of it.
