The Deplorable Debate Riding the Storm Out !!!
Today the Atlantic seaboard of our still great nation
are batoning down the hatches. Here in Stuart,
6 miles west from the beach and 16 feet above
sea level we are at the ready. In 2004 we took
2 direct hits from the eyewalls of hurricanes
Frances and Jeanne within 21 days of each other.
We are 100 miles north of Miami and the seat
of Martin county. We are reading again and again
in our church shelters the beloved book of Matthew,
seasoned with the salt of Daniel 7 and the relish of
Saint John the Divine's book of Revelations ...
Maranatha !

Four hurricanes. Within six weeks. In one deadly season.
Charley: 145 mph. Frances: 105 mph. Ivan: 130 mph. Jeanne: 120 mph.
Jeanne struggled to reorganize, eventually strengthening and performing a complete loop over the open Atlantic. It headed westwards, strengthening into a Category 3 hurricane and passing over the islands of Great Abaco and Grand Bahama in the Bahamas on September 25. Jeanne made landfall later in the day in Florida just 2 miles (3 kilometers) from where Frances had struck a mere 3 weeks earlier.

Hurricane Matthew May Be Rare Major Hurricane Strike to Florida East Coast;
Conditions Deteriorating in Bahamas

Hurricane Matthew is now back over warm water north of Cuba, and will rake through the Bahamas
and appears likely to be a strong hurricane strike for a sizable swath of Florida's Atlantic coast.

Category 3 Matthew is now bearing down on the Bahamas.
Hurricane watches and warnings are posted for a swath of eastern Florida.
Matthew will likely be the first hurricane strike in South Florida since Wilma.
Matthew will then flirt with the coasts of Georgia and the Carolinas this weekend.
However, the threat to the Northeast has been reduced.

Florida, Carolinas brace for Hurricane Matthew
Massive storm smacks Cuba on its way to southeastern coast of USA

by John Bacon - USA TODAY

Hurricane Matthew made landfall Tuesday night in Cuba at around 8 p.m. ET as U.S. states prepared to protect themselves and braced for the worst. The powerful category 4 storm carried maximum sustained winds of 140 mph, the National Hurricane Center said. Bottled water flew off supermarket shelves along Florida’s Atlantic Coast, and South Carolina prepared to evacuate more than 1 million people as the nation girded for Matthew, the most powerful storm in almost a decade. Duterte tells Obama 'you can go to hell,' warns of breakup
by Jim Gomez - AP

Philippine leader Rodrigo Duterte told President Obama “you can go to hell” in a speech Tuesday that was his strongest tirade so far against the U.S. over its criticism of his deadly anti-drug campaign, adding that he may eventually decide to “break up with America.” He also lashed out anew at the European Union, saying the bloc, which has also criticized his brutal crackdown, “better choose purgatory, hell is filled up.” Since becoming president in June, Duterte has had an uneasy relationship with the U.S. and with Obama and has declared intentions to bolster relations with China and Russia as he revamps Philippine foreign policy that has long leaned on Washington. The brash-speaking leader also has been hypersensitive to criticism over his anti-drug crackdown, which has left more than an estimated 3,000 suspected drug dealers and pushers dead in just three months, alarming the United Nations, the EU, the U.S. and human rights watchdogs. Mass. court gives parental rights to unmarried gay partner
by Greg Toppo - USATODAY

The same Massachusetts court that paved the way more than a decade ago for same-sex marriage nationwide ruled on Tuesday that a gay woman whose former girlfriend gave birth to two children can seek the same parental rights as the children’s mother. The ruling, handed down in Boston, revolves around the biological children of Julie Gallagher and her former partner, Karen Partanen. The children are now 4 and 8, but after the couple split in 2013 after 13 years together, Partanen wanted to be declared a full, legal parent, the Associated Press reported. A family court judge dismissed Partanen’s request, finding that she didn’t meet the requirements under state law. She and Gallagher were not married when the children were born, and Partanen is not a biological parent. The children were conceived through artificial insemination. Tuesday’s high court ruling found that a gay person may establish himself or herself as a child’s presumptive parent even without a biological relationship, unanimously overturning the lower court ruling. Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God. Dost thou know when God disposed them,
and caused the light of his cloud to shine? Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which
is perfect in knowledge? How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind? Hast thou with him
spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass? Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot
order our speech by reason of darkness.

Hillary Clinton’s vice presidential nominee, Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, is getting flack for constantly interrupting Indiana Governor Mike Pence during their debate on Tuesday.
