Exclusive: Anonymous Takes On CAIR & The Muslim Brotherhood

by  | Jan 10, 2016

Nezar Hamze, a leader in the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), is also a Deputy Sheriff in the Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. Last month, Hamze took full advantage of his position and engaged in firearms training of members of a radical mosque. The mosque, located in Tampa Bay, is known to partner with designated terrorist organizations.
During the same week, a mosque in Kansas City was discovered to have been receiving millions of dollars in federal grants–and has been for the past several years. The Islamic Center of Greater Kansas City is owned by an Islamic umbrella organization linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, and according to a federal spending database has obtained $2,739,891 from the Department of Agriculture since 2010.
The Muslim Brotherhood has also recently been in the news due to a study, ordered by British Prime Minister David Cameron, which preceded the United Kingdom declaring the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group.
GhostSec, a counterterrorism unit within the Anonymous hacktivist collective, has apparently run out of patience with CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood and has joined the #BanCAIR campaign on Twitter. In December, GhostSec began targeting websites owned by or linked to CAIR or the Muslim Brotherhood.
The group temporarily shut down the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City, in addition to Hamas and CAIR websites. According to GhostSec, these sites were shut down temporarily, as a warning to those who provide support to terrorist organizations.
GhostSec specializes in intel collection, threat analysis, design of software utilized in the battle against ISIS online and the deployment of digital weapons. GhostSec has been involved in assisting the authorities with foiling terror plots and turning over actionable intel to law enforcement around the world.
And, now this elite team of operatives has set its sights on groups that bolster the spread of terrorism.
CAIR
CAIR purports itself to be a civil rights organization, is partially funded by the Saudi Wahhabi establishment and has several ties to Islamist organizations. It was co-founded in 1994 by Nihad Awad, Omar Ahmad and Rafeeq Jaber. At its inception, each of the founders had close ties to the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was formed by senior Hamas operative Mousa Abu Marzook. IAP served as Hamas’ public relations and recruitment arm in the U.S.
According to researchers at Discover The Networks, “CAIR opened its first office in Washington, DC, with the help of a $5,000 donation from the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), a self-described charity founded by Mousa Abu Marzook. In May 1996, CAIR coordinated a press conference to protest the decision of the U.S. government to extradite Marzook for his connection to terrorist acts performed by Hamas.”
CAIR embraces and promotes a jihadist ideology. For example, in 1998 co-founder Omar Ahmad announced to a Fremont, California audience that, “Islam isn’t in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran … should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.”
Additionally, co-founder Nihad Awad came out publicly in regard to his support of terrorism at a 1994 meeting at Barry University, saying: “I am a supporter of the Hamas movement.” And, in 1998, CAIR demanded the removal of a Los Angeles billboard describing Osama bin Laden as “the sworn enemy.”
As stated on Discover The Networks’s website:
“In 2003 CAIR invested, according to its own Form 990 filed with the Internal Revenue Service, $325,000 from its California offices with the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT). According to Newsweek, authorities say that over the years ‘NAIT money has helped the Saudi Arabian sect of Wahhabism — or Salafism, as the broader, pan-Islamic movement is called — to seize control of hundreds of mosques in U.S. Muslim communities.’”
~
“FBI wiretap evidence which was introduced during the 2007 trial of the Holy Land Foundation (a trial that explored HLF’s financial ties to Hamas), proved that Nihad Awad had attended a 1993 Philadelphia meeting of Hamas leaders and operatives who collaborated on a plan to disguise funding for Hamas as charitable donations.
The home of Muthanna al-Hanooti, one of CAIR’s directors, was raided in 2006 by FBI agents in connection with an active terrorism investigation. FBI agents also searched the offices of Focus on Advocacy and Advancement of International Relations, al-Hanooti’s Michigan- and Washington DC-based consulting firm that investigators suspect to be a front supporting the Sunni-led insurgency in Iraq.”
CAIR is also known for:
  • Discouraging criticism against it by labelling virtually anyone who does as an “Islamophobe.”
  • Having had formal contacts with the FBI suspended.
  • Its designation as a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates.
  • Whitewashing terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah as “resistance movements.”
The Muslim Brotherhood
The Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamist organization with a political approach to Islam. It was established in Egypt in 1928 by cleric Hassan al-Banna following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.
According to founder al-Banna, “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.” Furthermore, the Muslim Brotherhood seeks an end to Western influence. A central theme in the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideology is the carrying out of jihad.  A former Kuwaiti Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmad al-Rabi’, explained in a Saudi-owned: “The beginnings of all the religious terrorism that we are witnessing today were in the Muslim Brotherhood’s ideology .. all those who worked with bin-Laden and al-Qaida went out under the mandate of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
The Muslim Brotherhood’s plans for North America:
“In May 1991, MB produced an “Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America.” This document was written by Mohamed Akram Adlouni, a member not only of MB’s governing Shura Council, but also of its Planning Committee, its “Special Committee,” its Curriculum Committee, its Palestine Committee (which provided “media, money and men” to Hamas), and its QZT Committee (a high-level entity identified only by its initials).
Asserting that the Brotherhood’s mission was to establish ‘an effective and … stable Islamic Movement’ on the continent, this document outlined a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process” for achieving that objective. It stated that Muslims ‘must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands … so that … God’s religion [Islam] is made victorious over all other religions.'”
Another goal pursued by the organization is the advancement of the “free palestine” movement and the push to “liberate” Jerusalem. In 2012, Muslim Brotherhood General Guide Muhammad Badi’ implored in a sermon: “Every Muslim must act to save Jerusalem from the usurpers and to [liberate] Palestine from the claws of occupation.”
With branches in 70 countries and territories, including its main contingents in Egypt, Syria, Gaza, Libya, Tunisia, and Jordan, the Muslim Brotherhood also has active chapters in the UK, France and various other European countries as well as in the United States.
Founder al-Banna, was a devout admirer of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime. But, according to the Jewish Virtual Library, “In an effort to possibly hide their militant Islamist rules from the eyes of Western observers, the Brotherhood removed the  organizational by-laws from their main English language website in mid-February 2011.” The bylaws, however, were still available to Arabic readers.
So, what does GhostSec have planned next for groups such as CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood? The group didn’t reveal what they have in store for organizations who have consistently supported the widespread suffering and carnage imposed by terrorists. But, GhostSec did extend this message to CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood: “Expect Us.”
