Declarations of self-government and the commitment to self-defence are spreading through Kurdish towns and neighbourhoods in Turkish Kurdistan.
Since Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s new wave of attacks on North Kurdistan within the Turkish state in the wake of Turkey’s June election, people of all ages have joined the effort to defend and govern themselves in the area.
Since the 1990s, the Turkish state has used tactics of denial, assimilation and annihilation in the North Kurdistan. Although the promises of peace that the Erdogan’s Justice and Development Party (AKP) made when it first came to power awakened hope for many, 13 years later the promises remain unfulfilled.

Israeli police arrested a fourth person for calling Mohammed a pig. Avia Morris, the first person arrested described being taunted with cries of “Allahu Akbar” and “Kill the Jews” along with signs of support for ISIS. But it only became a legal matter when the twenty-year-old woman retorted, “Mohammed is a pig.”
Calling for the death of infidels isn’t a crime. Insulting Mohammed is.
Avia got off lucky. When a young woman named Tatiana Soskin drew Mohammed as a pig scrawling in a Koran, the Clinton administration was more outraged by this than by the World Trade Center bombing.

Israel’s quick response to recent Syria rockets show attack was no surprise for IDF Intelligence.

The swift Israeli reaction Thursday and Friday to the launching of four rockets from Syria at the Galilee and Golan shows how deep is the Israeli intelligence penetration of Iran’s military. It was not the first time that precise and updated intelligence data enabled Israel to prevent terrorist attacks from Syria sponsored by Iran, or to execute attacks against Bashar Assad’s regime, or whatever is left of it.
The rocket launchings – which caused no casualties or damage to property, except sparking fires in open fields – didn’t surprise IDF Intelligence.
They were expecting some sort of an attack against Israel from the Syrian Golan and prepared themselves for the eventuality.

Jews have historically been leftists, over the last century consistently voting for left-leaning, liberal parties in Canada, the U.S. and Europe in higher proportion than any other religious group. Those liberal, left-leaning Jews are about to experience a political sea change as they turn massively to the right.
The West’s political parties will also feel the effects – not directly at the ballot box, where the Jewish vote is generally too small to decide an election but indirectly, in their coffers, where the Jewish tilt in campaign giving has often meant the difference between victory and defeat. As one example, the U.S. Democratic Party typically receives between half and two-thirds of its funding from Jews, the Republican Party more like a quarter.

Russia's stunt-loving Putin rides to bottom of Black Sea

MOSCOW (AP) — Another summer, another trip to the bottom of a sea for Russia's adventure-loving president.
Vladimir Putin climbed into a three-seat submersible craft Tuesday to check out an ancient sunken ship found recently in the Black Sea off the coast of Crimea — the peninsula annexed by Russia last year from Ukraine. He descended 83 meters (272 feet) to see the remains of the Byzantine trading ship, which he said dated back to the 9th or 10th century.
On previous trips deep underwater, Putin has explored the Gulf of Finland and Lake Baikal in submersibles. He also went scuba diving in the Kerch Strait that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov, where he brought up fragments of ancient Greek jugs, or amphorae, that his spokesman later admitted had been planted.
Speaking by radio to Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev while still under water, Putin said he hoped the trading ship would shed light on Russia's development and show "how deep our historical roots are."
He told Medvedev he should have come along.
"It's great, there are lots of objects, amphorae scattered around," Putin said. He ended the chat with a casual "Big hug!"
Off the vessel, Putin was greeted by Medvedev, who did give him a hug, and also by his chief of staff and defense minister. They were among the many Russian officials who accompanied him on this week's trip to Crimea. [...]

Desperate Officials Try To Cover Up Failure of “Gun Free” D.C.

Washington, D.C. is infamous for having some of the nation’s strictest gun control laws. It is also incredibly violent, and there has been a recent surge in murders that the district’s Democrat leadership has been unable to slow, much less stop.
In a desperate attempt to appear that they are “doing something,” Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Cathy Lanier are now upping rewards for those willing to turn in some criminals:
The District of Columbia on Wednesday sharply hiked rewards for seized illegal guns amid an upsurge in killings in the U.S. capital, part of a rise in homicides in many big cities.
Washington will pay a $2,500 reward for a tip leading to gun seizures, up from $1,000. Information leading to an arrest and conviction in a shooting earns a reward of $10,000, up from $1,000, Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Cathy Lanier said in a statement.
“Our actions are clear: we need to get illegal guns off the street so people aren’t put in harm’s way,” Lanier said.
Washington, a city of about 660,000 people, has had 98 homicides so far this year, up 36 percent from the same time in 2014. Police have seized 944 illegal guns this year, the statement said.
Lanier and Bowser have blamed the rise in killings on factors including illegal firearms in the wrong hands, greater use of synthetic drugs, more guns and repeat violent offenders on the street.
Yes, Bowser and Lanier are tacitly admitting that their leadership and policing polices are so ineffective that they need to bribe criminals in the District to turn one another in if there is to be any hope of stopping the out-of-control violence.
Lanier—nothing more or less than a politician with a badge—went so far as to make unsupported claims attacking standard-capacity magazines:
“We have added a reward of $10,000 for shootings because we are seeing too many of these shootings now with high-capacity magazines, and the potential for them to be lethal is much, much greater,” Lanier said at a news conference.
When asked to support her claim that “high capacity magazines” were to blame, Lanier had no answers… probably because the data doesn’t support her claims.
