NEVADA ASSEMBLYWOMAN MICHELE FIORE'S CAMPUS CARRY BILL DEAD - RINO'S DEFEATED IT!

Friends,

This morning campus carry was officially pronounced dead by Senate Judiciary Chairman Greg Brower.

Senator Greg Brower announced that he would not grant a hearing to AB487, an emergency measure that was introduced by the Not-So-Great Eight Assembly Republicans who last week voted against adding campus carry to SB175, an omnibus gun bill introduced by Senator Michael Roberson.

For several weeks, I, along with the majority of my fellow Republicans, have talked about Assemblyman Ira Hansen’s valiant effort to save campus carry by amending it to SB175. This was without any doubt, our one and best chance to pass campus carry in the 2015 Republican controlled legislative session. However, 8 Assembly Republicans actively fought to kill the campus carry amendment and ultimately voted against amending it into SB175 last week. Out of our 25 Republicans in our caucus, 8 killed it by voting against it along with the 17 Democrats. Only after outrage at their actions from 2nd Amendment supporters, the Not-So-Great Eight re-introduced an emergency campus carry bill (AB487) and touted promises that they had negotiated a deal with the Senate to give campus carry a hearing in the Senate. In fact, Majority Leader Paul Anderson, when asked by a constituent via email why he voted against the campus carry amendment to SB175 responded: “I will vote for the clean gun bill that will get signed by the Governor into law.”

In light of this morning’s announcement by Senator Greg Brower that AB487 is dead, clearly Majority Leader Anderson and the rest of the Not-So-Great Eight were lying to everyone when they claimed to have struck a deal with the Senate to bring campus carry to not only a vote in the Senate but also by implying the Governor would sign it.

I am sending this email to you, the voters, so that you may remember this come election time. A lot of great people have fought hard for the last 3 sessions to pass this much needed legislation in Nevada, only to have it die in the hands of so-called Republicans.

If you would like to read an in-depth report of everything that has happened with campus carry in the 2015 legislative session leading up to it’s death, the following links below are to a three-part story that explains how the Not-So-Great Eight; Assemblymen Wheeler, Oscarson, Woodbury, Silberkraus, Paul Anderson, Derek Armstrong, Lynn Stewart and Chris Edwards killed campus carry.
