Dear CONSERVATIVE Reader,
Thirty-five-year-old Marine Corps vet Jason Simcakoski -- a
husband and the father of an 11-year-old girl -- checked into a Wisconsin
Veterans Administration facility seeking help for severe anxiety and a
painkiller addiction.
And he checked out weeks later... in a body
bag... pumped full of enough tranquilizers and opiates to knock out a full
platoon.
Higher-ups in the VA tried to blame Simcakoski's death on
a single rogue doctor who doled out so many painkillers that the facility
was nicknamed "Candy Land."
But a shocking new report reveals that
this was no isolated case. Simcakoski and the Wisconsin VA pill mill were
just a small part of an administration-wide practice of over-drugging our
veterans -- sometimes to death -- instead of giving them the help they so
desperately need and deserve.
Currently, against standard medical
practice, 370,000 VA patients have been left to languish on heavy-duty
painkillers for longer than three months, raising their risk of side
effects and addiction.
The report also uncovered an additional
100,000 veterans who are receiving potentially lethal mixes of
tranquilizers and narcotic painkillers... combinations that can literally
stop a person from breathing. Even worse, there's zero evidence that the
drugs work together at all -- regardless of your condition.
At the
time of his death Simcakoski had been prescribed a staggering 15 drugs,
including muscle relaxers, tranquilizers, anti-psychotics and an opiate
pain killer -- all at the SAME TIME!
Our military heroes are
becoming victims of get-them-in get-them-out conveyor-belt medicine and
addiction, suicide and overdose are the result. In fact, military vets are
dying from fatal overdoses at twice the rate of the rest of the nation.
And prescriptions for dangerous and addictive opiates for our vets have
tripled in the past decade.
The men and women who were willing to
sacrifice their lives for our country should be getting the very best
medical care we can provide. And that includes safe and effective
drug-free approaches that tackle pain and help provide peace of mind,
including the Dr. Wright recommended Kaufman
Pain Neutralization Technique, acupuncture and yoga.
Capsaicin
creams and fish oils have been proven to naturally relieve pain and
inflammation -- and they do it for just pennies a day. And for anxiety,
depression and other mood disorders, Dr. Wright recommends natural
alternatives, beginning
with kava, a botanical used for centuries to calm the nerves without
scrambling the brain.
Our veterans deserve better. Let's demand
they get it.
Yours in good health,
Bob
Reagan
