Scott Walker: I Would 'Absolutely' Repeal Common Core
Walker's position is sure to raise the ire of Jeb Bush, a staunch advocate of Common Core
Dear Conservatives,
Conservative
Scott Walker has doubled-down on his pledge to sign a full REPEAL
Common Core, which was imposed by the previous Democrat governor in
Wisconsin.
Earlier this year, Gov. Scott Walker urged the Wisconsin legislators to send him a Common Core repeal bill for him to sign into law.
Earlier this year, Gov. Scott Walker urged the Wisconsin legislators to send him a Common Core repeal bill for him to sign into law.
In a radio interview with Scott Walker on Monday, Glenn Beck asked, "Will you sign, if it comes to your desk, a full repeal of Common Core in Wisconsin?”
Here is what Gov. Walker said:
“Absolutely. I proposed it in my budget,” Walker responded.
“Years ago, before I was governor, the previous legislature, previous governor and the superintendent of public instruction, which is an independently elected commissioner, enacted this.
It wasn’t something on our radar screen when we first ran in 2010. A few years ago when we heard from parents, we heard from conservative educators, many others like that, raised concerns, we drafted the education to repeal it in the state.
Walker's response is sure to raise the ire of former Gov. Jeb Bush, who is a leading advocate for federal Common Core education mandates.
A few week's ago, Bush took a "shot" at Scott Walker, telling New Hampshire voters that candidates need to have a ‘backbone’ on Common Core.
‘I think you need to be genuine,’ said Bush. ‘You
need to have a backbone. … Our country will not be as dynamic as we
want it to be until we improve education in this country.’” (Boston Herald, 3/14)
Isn’t it time to nominate a conservative for President who's tough as nails -- and who knows how to win?
Scott Walker has a proven track record of WINNING with bold, conservative ideas.
Now
is the time for Conservatives to urgently rally behind Scott Walker,
encouraging him in the strongest of terms to take the next immediate
step.
Let’s bring bold, conservative leadership to America — Scott Walker for President!
Go Scott, Go!
