STOP THE EPA AND THAT WILL STOP OBAMA!

Dear Conservative,

The Obama administration is gearing up to impose the costliest regulation in U.S. history. And most Americans probably haven’t even heard of it.
Not content to bankrupt the coal industry and make electricity prices “necessarily skyrocket,” Obama’s EPA will soon put strict limits on ozone that could force economic growth to a grinding halt and do almost nothing to improve the environment.
A recent study by NERA Economic Consulting finds that EPA’s costly ozone rule could:

  • Slash economic growth by $270 billion per year,
  • Destroy 2.9 million jobs annually,
  • Leave families with $1,570 less per year to spend on groceries and gas.
The regulation would throw vast swaths of the country into so-called “non-attainment” status, forcing businesses to shut down operations or risk hefty fines. It could also force local communities to abandon plans to build new roads and schools.
The following map shows which parts of the country are at risk if Obama set the ozone level where the environmental activists want him to:
As you can see, nearly the entire United State would be unable to achieve this standard and the federal government would excecerise much greater control over the economies, industries, and land use in these counties.
The worst part is that none of this is necessary because our environment is already improving without more regulation. Ground-level ozone has declined by 33 percent over the last three decades.
When EPA looked at the ozone standard in 2008, the agency declared that the current levels protect public health.
Now with Obama in charge EPA is changing its tune. Obama tried to impose these same regulations in 2011 but scrapped the plan because he knew it would be unpopular as he ran for re-election.
With the election behind him, Obama is doubling down. This time, the president knows he doesn’t have to answer to voters.
Obama may not be on the ballot, but we remain determined to hold the president accountable for his destructive policies.
Sincerely,
Tom Pyle
President
