SERMON - TRUST IN GOD BUT OBEY HIM pt4

Trust In God But Obey Him Part 4     Although there remains prophesies to be fulfilled it is evident that those prophesies could be fulfilled any day. Israel may possess the nuclear capability to destroy Damascus as well as those countries that choose to set against them. The question in the minds of many may be; here does America fit in? Does America have a position that is foretold in God’s Word?   For that answer I refer you to the words of prophets.   In God’s Word there are scriptural passages that speak of, “two Babylons.” There is the original and a Daughter. There have been men that wrote of the Daughter, the New Babylon, and specifically named that nation as America . Additionally there is the, “Mystery Babylon,” who is known as, “an abomination.”   Revelation 17: 5 The name written on her forehead was a mystery: BABYLON THE GREAT …THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES…AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. This is very disconcerting to me as I have always thought of America as being a Christian nation with values far above any other nation on the earth. However, I see the moral degradation that is running rampant across the nation as more and more sinful acts are condoned. Our own government gives rise to abominations I never thought would be of such great importance but now realize I have misjudged…quite a bit!   Abortion, pornographic acts, theft, greed, acts against Christianity, and sins never before allowed by any government are not only condoned, but are paid for by the government. We have just witnessed the forced acceptance of homosexuality in our military and Pastors are condemned for speaking out is protest of immorality!   Laws have been passed that name sermons, ‘hate speech,’ when homosexuality is named as a sin.   The Founding Fathers of this great nation established writings that set forth God as having led them in establishing a Constitution and Bill of Rights whereby we would be governed. Instead of accepting these writings as words to live by we see those words twisted and used to destroy what they were designed to protect! I can only imagine God’s anger as He sees America sinking lower and lower into depravity and sinfulness.   Further study of Revelation 17 tells of location amidst, “seven Hills.” There are the Seven Hills of Rome and there are also the, “seven hills of Jerusalem ,” and Christians of America understand this fact. With this in mind the, “seven hills,” of Revelation 17 may be seen as those in the minds of God’s servants as can be seen as the ‘Seven Deadly Sins.’   There are ‘Hills,’ and there are ‘Hills.” The first may represent geological mounds while the other is represented by ‘obstacles’ hindering our spiritual walk. Those are named as: Pride; Envy; Anger; Avarice; Gluttony; Lust, and Sloth.   The political leaders of America are leading this nation towards each of those sins thereby creating a nation to be destroyed by God’s wrath! Add to those sins the one named earlier and you see ‘hill’ of a substantial nature.     Daniel 7 contains prophesy respecting, “Lion, Eagle, Bear and Leopard.”   England has forever been referenced as the, ‘Lion,’ America , the ‘Eagle,’ Russia , the ‘Bear,’ and, the ‘Leopard,’ the symbol of Satan’s antichrist as set forth in Revelation 13!   If you study Revelation 18 and consider the acts attributed to, “The Fall of Babylon,” you learn of America . You learn of “luxurious living,” you learn of, “merchants mourning ,"as they lost their buyer for the goods they sold. When you consider the fall of America ’s economy the light begins to ‘go on.’ However it is not the loss of economic power to be concerned with but the Words of God!   Revelation 18: 8 Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her. Consider the might and power once enjoyed by America . Nation of this earth looked up to her as either their protector or their enemy. Those that considered themselves as foes knew that they dare not openly oppose her. Then, slowly but surely things began to change. Where strength we shown in World War II, the Korean conflict showed hesitancy, Viet Nam showed a lack of steadfastness and conflicts in the Middle East are showing meddling by politicians as never before.   In short, America has lost her ‘moral compass’ and regardless of the good intentions of truly concerned citizens, destruction lies ahead!   As America once had the moral fortitude and God given strength to deter any nation or misguided band of malcontents (terrorists) from malicious acts against humanity, there would not be an antichrist with the wherewithal to act. By, ‘wherewithal,’ I mean money, political clout, and Satan’s backing.’ With America , ‘out-of-the-way,’ what nation dare oppose the antichrist?   It is extremely difficult to even think of America becoming as degraded and sinful as to evoke the wrath of God. But, in truth, I see our leaders as capitulating to the ways of Satan as they seek wealth instead of justice for the people. In abortion I see wholesale murder. I see sloth, one of the seven great sins, rewarded by those who give out the wealth of the producers to any that do not produce. I see the great numbers of people who deny God or, even if the make the claim to believe in Him, do so with a twisted manner of thinking. The denial of God’s existence is allowed on billboards. TV and just about anywhere imaginable...   Now I wish to digress and deliver a massage relating to my earlier words about the, ‘seven hills of Jerusalem ’ as thought of by Christians.   Our Heavenly Father is there for His children. His children are those who keep Him in their hearts and minds. To those Jerusalem has a special meaning. His children are those that praise and worship Him and know that He is there.   Revelation 21:: 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God..   This, “ Jerusalem ,” is that which must be in the thoughts of true Christians. No other location can equal what God has created for us…none! We must also be aware of the hills of sin that are not being overcome. These ‘hills’ will ultimately be our downfall!   Although our country may suffer God’s wrath and a mighty battle be undertaken with the antichrist at the head of God’s enemies, know this: God sent His Only Begotten Son to redeem us of our sins. We, as His children, must believe, confess, and repent unto Him as we FEAR NOT! This we must teach to our descendants and prepare them for that which lies ahead.   Any who may live through either the Tribulation or the ensuing Great Tribulation must remain firm of purpose and strong in faith. He is with us and that we, or they, must never doubt or forget! Those are the teachings we must convey and pass on to those we love.   (Closing Prayer)   Almighty God, Father of us all, we come to You with praises for Your greatness and for the grace You bestow upon Your children. Father we worship at Your Throne as we say, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah. Glory to God in the highest!  All power and glory is Yours.   Lord, we thank You for the blessings and pleasure You have allowed us to experience here in our country. We strive to make Your glory known and pray that You will water the seed we have strewn. We express our sorrow at the acts of many that refuse to accept You, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit as worthy of praise and worship.   Father, we seek Your mercies and protections of the time to come as prophesies are fulfilled. Whether it is any of us to face the destructions ahead, or those that follow us, we ask that You be with Your children. We ask that You stay the hands of cruelty, the rigors of oppression and the actions of those that oppose You as You allow us to do Your will. This we ask for ourselves as well as for our descendants and Your future servants. As El Gibbor we ask that You strengthen those of Your army and teach them Your ways.   Father, we ask that You send Your angels to protect our sons and daughters in the military and be with them in times of danger. Be with those who protect us from harm sought to be wrought upon us by those who pray to a God that is non-existent and confound their leaders.
