If You Vote Republican, The Confederacy Wins (Or Something LIke That)

The New York Times had a story over the weekend that an internal polling memo shows the Democrats must get black voters mobilized ASAP to win. If black voters do not get mobilized, the Democrats are toast.

Within a day of the New York Times story, a flyer was found on cars parked at a Fayetteville, NC church for Sunday service. The flyer had a picture of a lynching. The words on top of the picture were “Sen. Kay Hagan Doesn’t Win. Obama’s Impeachment will Begin!”

Jason Carter, Jimmy’s Grandson, Thinks Our Rights Come From the Government

Jason Carter is who the Democrats have chosen to lose in the gubernatorial race this year in Georgia. Carter is History’s Greatest Monster’s grandson. He’s a Duke grad. He’s a practicing attorney. He is in the Georgia State Senate.

Over the weekend, Carter participated in a gubernatorial debate and all but admitted he supports gay marriage. You can hear what he said for yourself. But I give you his biography — emphasis on being a lawyer — for how he says he is for gay marriage.

Carter, in his own words, believes the government “doles out” our rights. No, this may surprise you. You may think that in our American system we have “unalienable rights” endowed by our Creator. But Carter thinks otherwise. In his own words, government doles out our rights to us.

“Abortion Barbie” Wendy Davis is a Truly Horrible Person. But We Already Knew That.

Wendy Davis rose to fame championing the ability to rip children’s skulls open, vacuum out their brains, then rip them apart. But she did it in pink sneakers, so the media loves her. That is the only reason Wendy Davis is the Texas Democrats’ nominee. She got a Vogue profile referencing her “Barbie like good looks,” a Maria Shriver hagiography for NBC, and a lot of liberal dollars from around the country for her one public position. That is why I termed her “Abortion Barbie.”

She promptly tried to run away from abortion as her defining issue. But she owns it. It is her singular claim to fame.

John Hickenlooper stole this man’s justice

Elections matter, and real people can be hurt by a politician’s decisions, or even the lack thereof. Last year, when Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper gave a temporary reprieve to mass murderer Nathan Dunlap, people were hurt.

Meet Dennis O’Connor, a father who lost his daughter and had waited 20 years for justice, when Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper threw his life into further limbo by refusing to make a decisive choice in the fate of his daughter’s killer.

Don’t worry about Ebola because everything else is working fine

Now that the administration’s campaign to stop the spread of Ebola and “degrade and destroy” ISIS are going so swimmingly, let’s take a quick look at how Obama is kicking major butt in the rest of the world.

Back in July, I posted on how Hungary was moving slowly and inexorably into Moscow’s orbit. NATO, for the Democrats reading this, is a NATO member. Moscow is not a friend. This is really not a good thing.

Now the Washington Post’s Jackson Diehl reports that the shift of Eastern Europe, particularly NATO members, to a stance of not offending Moscow has reached the status of an absolute route. Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia are all breaking their necks to come to terms with Putin.

White House continues to pushback on calls for Ebola travel ban

For reasons that are not entirely clear, but seem to have more to do with ego than anything else, the administration has dug in it s heels on the issue of a travel ban affecting nations with active Ebola outbreaks.

Over the weekend, they enlisted baseball analyst, poll analyst, and erstwhile shill, Nate Silver, to make the case that a travel ban could not work because people could evade the few direct flights from West Africa to the United States. For Silver’s analysis to make any sense whatsoever you have to ignore the fact that international travelers have passports AND that most airlines are already curtailing travel from affected nations and travel of nationals from those nations.

The Vine

Today is the 27th day of the 40 Days For Life campaign and, so far, 281 babies have been saved from abortion. Story after story from the front lines proves that women who visit Planned Parenthood are in desperate need of knowing they have a choice other than abortion. As one campaign participant put it, “Women often just need to know that they are not alone.” Of course “pro-choice” advocates hate women actually being presented with choices, so it comes as no surprise that each year 40 Days For Life campaigns are threatened with being shut down; this year being no exception. Life Site News reports Wilmington, Delaware is the latest example in which city officials claimed they would be ticketing the campaign for their lack of a supposed permit needed to exercise their First Amendment rights. No such permit was actually needed and once legal help was called in the city backed off.
