At virtually every meeting, rally and event we have attended, someone almost always says that we need to hold our elected representatives accountable. Other than voting them out of office at election time, no one has suggested how we hold them accountable to ensure that they are accountable during their term of office.
We the People – Alabama believe we have come up with a way to do just that.
The Alabama Legislative Job Performance Review rates the votes each
Alabama legislator has taken on various bills that have come up for a
vote. This is a record that each legislator can either be proud of and
run for re-election on or have to defend to their constituents.
Attached is the Excel spreadsheet detailing every vote by each
legislator on a variety of significant issues; a summary of the bills
that were voted on; and a summary of the JPR of each legislator as
compared to his/her colleagues in both the Alabama Senate and Alabama
House of Representatives.
We the People – Alabama
recommends that any legislator with a JPR of less than 50% be replaced,
as their voting record indicates that they have not honored their oath
of office to defend the freedoms of every Alabama citizen.
In January 2015, We the People – Alabama
will set up a new Job Performance spreadsheet for every legislator
elected this November and will maintain it through the next election
cycle so Alabama voters can make more informed choices. More
importantly, we will be letting each legislator know, on a regular
basis, that their job performance is constantly being updated during
their term of service to the people of Alabama. With adequate manpower
and resources, in 2015, we also plan to establish a JPR for each member
of Alabama’s delegation to the U.S. Congress.
If you want to make a difference, forward this and its attachments to
everyone on your mailing list. Let us show the nation how we the people
of Alabama will hold our elected representatives accountable.

If you don’t vote because you think your voice doesn’t count, you’re absolutely right.
If you don’t vote, your voice doesn’t count.
More importantly, if you don’t vote, you give greater weight to those who voted for the other side.
