This is Unacceptable

Whether some conservatives like to admit it or not, President Barack H. Obama is the President of the United States and is therefore my President and the President of any American now reading this. For those of you who bristle at this, go see Hebrews 13:17; 1 Timothy 2:1-15; Romans 13:1; and 1 Peter 2:17. Keep in mind Paul and Peter were both about to suffer and die and were still exhorting fellow Christians, many of whom were also about to suffer and die, to “honor the Emperor” and “et every person be subject to the governing authorities.” President Obama is our President. So we should all be horrified by the latest stories of Secret Service incompetence. The chief job of this organization is to protect the President and his family and it seems they have mostly done so by luck and divine intervention.

President Obama’s Asinine Abdication of Responsibility on Iraq   In case you missed it last night, President Obama acknowledged (sort of) that mistakes were made [by everyone but himself] in assessing the threat level that ISIS posed to the stability of Iraq and the entire region. Lena Dunham message aimed at the key “stupid women” demographic As we get closer to the November elections, flopsweat is beginning to set in among Democrats. All evidence shows that not only are voters looking more favorably upon the GOP, whether from adherence to principle or abhorrence of Obama, and the intensity of GOP voters is much higher than that measured among potential Democrat voters. The only chance that the Democrats have in November is in convincing a demographic that is notoriously fickle in non-presidential years to show up to vote. Enter Lena Dunham. I don’t know much about Dunham other than she’s been able to make a fairly profitable career off convincing people that watching a plain, dumpy girl get naked and have simulated sex on television is entertaining (well, it could be) and of social significance (it isn’t).* In turn, she’s attempted to parlay this rather slender claim to fame into a position as a spokesperson for other plain, dumpy, and promiscuous girls and the low-achieving douchebag hipsters who lust after them. While knowledge of his arrest for marijuana possession has long been in the public sphere, the few details offered by the embattled Senator have now been challenged by a look back at news reports from the incident. As Senator Mark Udall tells it, he was just cruising around town back in the 70's and got pulled over while having some pot on him. The Vine Can we all agree that Ruth Bader Ginsburg needs to stay exactly where she is? After previously saying she doesn’t want the growth of particular populations, she has now followed the statement up by clarifying she meant poor people. As Molly Hemingway says at The Federalist, Ginsburg is somewhat “like a crazy old racist great-aunt who keeps embarrassing us and we can’t do anything about it.” Only, she isn’t embarrassing us, she’s embarrassing the pro-abortion lobby. She really lets their love of eugenics shine, to a degree of which Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger would be proud. It’s delightful to watch, made even more so by the fact that she refuses to step down before President Obama is out of office. Read More
