THE BILBRAY FILES: ABANDON SHIP!
Pope Paul VI died on August 6, 1978. His successor, Pope John Paul I died just
over a month later. And I remember a Saturday Night Live skit back at the
time where the news anchor for “Weekend Update,” reporting on John Paul’s
passing, stopped in mid-sentence and queried, “Hey, didn’t we already do this
story?”
I was reminded of that skit this morning when I woke up and
read that liberal congressional candidate Erin
Bilbray-Kohn lost yet another campaign manager!
“Congressional candidate Erin Bilbray on Friday parted ways
with her second campaign manager as the Democrat moved to bolster her
struggling bid to defeat U.S. Rep. Joe
Heck, R-Nev., in the Nov. 4 general election,” Laura Meyers of the Las Vegas
Review-Journal reported.
“Bilbray and (Erica) Prosser ‘agreed that it would be in the best strategic interest for her to step down as manager,’ the campaign said in a statement.”
Prosser - an abortion rights activist imported from
Washington, DC - had only recently come onto the campaign after well-regarded
local campaign manager Bradley Mayer
abandoned ship.
Bilbray-Kohn’s campaign has been plagued by one gaffe after
another – including infamously calling her Army surgeon opponent “un-American”
last fall. But what’s a comical campaign
without a punch line, right? So get this
explanation for the latest wheel to fall off the Bilbray-Kohn apple cart
straight from the candidate herself…
“We had a bit of a string of bad luck.”
A string of bad luck?
Seriously?
Isn’t that the same thing General Custer said right before he died at Little Big Horn?
Isn’t that what Captain Joe
Hazelwood said after crashing the Exxon-Valdez?
Isn’t that what the Soviet Union said after the nuclear
meltdown at Chernobyl?
And isn’t that what the Chicago Cubs continue to say to this
day?
The new captain of the Titanic-class SS Bilbray-Kohn will be
Adriana Martinez, who I’ve heard
through the grapevine got stuck with the job after drawing the short straw
among remaining staffers and then losing a game of rock-paper-scissors to
Democrat political consultant Dan Hart.
The most embarrassing part of this most embarrassing
campaign is that Bilbray-Kohn’s job is that of professional campaign
trainer.
Then again, maybe we’re missing something here. Maybe, just maybe, this entire futile exercise
is a case study of what NOT to do in a campaign for future Democrat campaign
training programs.
Yeah, that’s the ticket!
MUTH’S TRUTHS
Is it just me, or should illegal aliens be begging to remain here in our country
rather than demanding it? I’m just saying.

for the third year in a row.” – Las Vegas Review-Journal
