1. Black Conservatives Shrug Off NAACP Snub, Plan Their Own Panel
Deneen Borelli wants to share her message of empowerment to black Americans from a limited government perspective, but the NAACP has "ignored" her request to speak at their annual meeting for the second year in a row, as reported Tuesday at Liberty Unyielding.
This year, Borelli, along with other prominent black conservatives, such as Katrina Pierson, Wayne Dupree, Lesli Brower, Brenda Flank, and the Rev. C.L. Bryant, have taken matters into to their own hands by announcing that they will be holding their own event in the same hotel where the NAACP meeting will be held.
Borelli, "Outreach Director for FreedomWorks, a grassroots organization dedicated to limited government," will be hosting a "a panel of black conservatives to discuss issues that can empower the black community to prosperity." Read more here...

2. Black Conservatives to Counter NAACP Conference in Las Vegas With Liberty Event
For two years the NAACP has denied a request by conservative author Deneen Borelli to speak at their annual conference. When Borelli, who is an employee of the conservative group FreedomWorks, attempted to pay for booth space at last year's National NAACP conference in Florida, they were told there was no room for them despite plenty of exhibit space remaining open.
This year, things will be different.
Borelli plans to sponsor an event in the same hotel during the NAACP's annual convention in Las Vegas next week. FreedomWorks’s Empower.org Liberty Summit event will be held on Monday, July 21 from 2pm to 5pm at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. Read more here...

4. Charles Rangel Seeks Revenge Against Teachers Union By Boosting Charter Schools
Fresh off winning the Democratic primary race against rival New York Senator Adriano Espaillat, Representative Charles Rangel came out swinging against the United Federation of Teachers for endorsing his opponent.
The New York Post reports Rangel is now boosting his support for charter schools as payback.
Rangel is hitting the union where it hurts — by vigorously supporting non-unionized charter schools. The unions have been fighting desperately to stop or slow down charter-school expansion.

5. Conservative Donors Stay the Course Against GOP Establishment
“Sometimes they win and sometimes they don’t. I’ve made no commitments yet, but I’d like to keep giving,” he added.
Several donors also pushed back on criticism from establishment Republicans who have said that they should be more focused on fighting Democrats than funding groups like the Club or SCF. Read more here...
