Comment of Richard Ruhling: As you know, the book of Daniel was sealed until the time of the end, Dan 12:4. Dan 8:17 defines the time of the end as the vision of the ram (Medes and Persians) that are now Iraq and Iran. The unsealed meaning of Daniel is a DOUBLE application--once in history and again at the end. This is why Christ, when asked about the end of the world, said to understand Daniel (Matt 24:3,15) When the book of Daniel begins Daniel is in captivity [martial law?] with the king pushing healthcare on Daniel (Obamacare?) Daniel tells the head of the most powerful nation [like the US] You are the head of gold (Dan 2:38) But Babylon was overthrown by the Medes and Persians who entered Babylon without a fight, maybe like Muslims entering America now with their push for Sharia law. Is what's coming like Dearborn Michigan?) Rev 9:7,8 reveals a plague with "faces like men" (beards) and "hair like women" (Muslim?)
