Speaker John Boehner
(R-Ohio) on Wednesday blamed Senate Democrats for keeping back a trade bill that
holds the promise of more U.S. jobs, and said President Obama must work harder
to sell the idea to Senate Democrats. Speaking on the House floor, Boehner said a Trade
Promotion Authority (TPA) bill is "in the works" in the House. Passage of the
TPA would authorize the administration to negotiate the Trans-Pacific
Partnership (TPP) agreement and bring it back to Congress for an up-or-down vote, without amendments that would
complicate the negotiation process. But he said Senate
Democrats are opposed, which means the TPA is a dead letter — unless Obama works
to convince the upper chamber.

The city of Santa Maria has two
languages, equally used—English and Spanish. The number of illegal aliens
hanging around the farms and street corners are obvious. Any ICE officer
could make their monthly quota is a day if they hustle. On the other hands the
illegal aliens and their supporters are protesting having a government office in
town that enforces the law. Guess since they break the law each day they
don’t want the Feds around to arrest them. No criminal
does.
It is expected that over
1,000 people will show up for the city council meeting on Wednesday. Were
I the ICE folks, I would ask for ID of everybody going in to the meeting—they
could make the daily California quota for finding illegal aliens at this one
locations, then follow up at the homes and businesses where these folks
work. Isn’t it time to enforce our laws instead of making a Leno joke
about them? “Nonetheless, 45 people signed up to
speak during the public comment period. The majority of speakers voiced concerns
that an ICE office would lead to the separation of families and deterioration of
the local community. They also mentioned reports of alleged abuse at ICE
detention centers.” LINK

that they're here. But they are
missing an important fact: It isn't the fault of the American people
either. It is the fault of the political class
that allowed them to come here with false hopes knowing that these hopes could
well be dashed at some point. There is nothing cruel about enforcing laws
because lawbreakers know that the laws are on the books and they know they have
broken them. I know that well because I was an illegal worker in Europe and I
knew that when the authorities made me leave they were in their legal right to
do so. But there is something
shamefully cynical about luring people into a potentially precarious situation
and making them feel entitled to something that is not
theirs. And that is what the Chamber
of Commerce, Big Ag, the political class, the msm, and others have done, beyond
the control of the American people whose laws they cynically refused to enforce
or whom they betrayed by bribing lawmakers and officials not to
enforce. If these people are never given a piece
of our sovereignty, which they have done nothing to deserve, it is not the fault
of people who want to protect their country and not allow us to be drawn into a
one world state. Regardless of the circumstances,
we have a right to be a nation of laws and justice.

expand the National
Guard’s policing powers in an effort to combine it with police forces in the
state, effectively militarizing the police. Today, Des Moines, Iowa shows us
another example of blatant Fourth Amendment violations. The Iowa state motto is
a little tarnished today: Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will
Maintain has morphed into a joke via SWAT and a militarized police
