Obama Traps Insurers - Single Payer Knocks
It appears Barack Obama has lied and defrauded his way into
his dream of single payer insurance sooner than most think. His move demanding insurers cover Americans
who have not paid premiums both in and
out of network, boxes the nation’s insurers in a corner, signals the end of
insurance companies as they operate today and brings us within months of a single
payer health system.
The president can accomplish his objective because he has successfully and
brutally vilified insurance companies until they are less popular than he.
Here is how Obama gets to single payer:
1. 1. The administration adds regulatory changes to
the ACA that force millions of people out of their current health plans and doctors.
DONE
2. 2. The ACA website fails, so the millions of people
who have lost their insurance cannot get coverage and cannot pay. DONE
3. 3. Obama
orders insurers to compensate for the government’s failure by providing
insurance to these millions even though there are no premium dollars to pay for
the procedures. DONE
4. 4. Obama
increases insurers’ costs by demanding they honor expensive out of network doctors
and procedures. This virtually guarantees the financial instability of most
insurers. DONE
5. 5. Insurers will have no choice* but to apply to
the government under the bailout provision to remain solvent.
*If an insurer refuses the ACA bailout, under the Dodd-Frank
Law, the Board of Governors can force them to take the money on the basis of being
a “large non-bank financial institution” that poses a “systemic risk” to US
financial security.
6. 6. The bailout provisions in the ACA and/or
Dodd-Frank give the administration powerful control over the finance and operations
of the insurer.
7.
SINGLE PAYER - Insurance companies at his point are so highly
regulated, they become little more than a collection arm of the government in
the single payer insurance scheme.
There are some ways to stop this power grab:
·
Americans must realize that insurance companies
are not their enemy, nor their biggest threat.
·
Insurers must refuse the government’s orders that
force them to operate at a loss and pushes them into bailouts.
·
Insurers must take the Obama administration to
court
·
Unless Americans want a single payer system,
they must rise up and demand the repeal of the ACA.
