(CORRECTION: We sent out this email earlier and made a glaring error that we apologize for. We mistakenly
wrote Steve King when it is Peter King that we have issue with. Unlike
Peter King, who has been attacking the Tea Party with lies and smears,
we hold ourselves accountable for the inaccuracies we make. We are
sorry to you and our friend Steve King for the mistake.)
We are under attack from Republicans now!
As members of the Tea Party, we are all too familiar with the Left's
penchant to insult, mischaracterize, and attempt to brand conservatives
as backwards, ignorant, and racist. Now, it seems as if
establishment Republicans who are threatened by our principled beliefs
have turned on us for holding them accountable. This exactly what we've seeing from Republican Congressman Peter King this week.
Monday, King announced the formation of his new PAC- an American
Leadership PAC, an ill-advised organization that aims to reduce the
appeal of the Republican Party by promoting big-government proponents
and fighting conservative candidates like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul. At a
time when the Republican Party's priority should be embracing the
conservative Tea Party movement in order to take control of the Senate
and White House, efforts to attack grassroots conservatives are
destructive. Unfortunately, Congressman King is out of touch
with the majority of Americans who want to reduce the size, cost and
intrusiveness of the federal government. If it were not for the Tea
Party, Republicans would not be enjoying control of the House today.
The
Tea Party inspired people to get involved in the political process and
take the Republican Party out of the hands of the country club
establishment-types like Congressman King. King has
consistently, yet foolishly, pointed the finger at conservatives for the
gridlock in D.C. In reality, it has been the 'politics as usual' that
has kept America swallowed in deficits and debt that the American people
want addressed. The Sandy legislation relief legislative is a perfect
example of the wrong-headed approach by Congressman King. Instead of
attacking Democrats and some Republicans for stuffing the bill with pork
spending that was not even going to the victims, he attacked
conservative Republicans for objecting to wasteful and deceptive
spending. It's that kind of backdoor politics that Americans hate.
Senators Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, who Congressman King likes to
criticize, are exactly the kind of conservative leaders we need more of
in the party. Moderate D.C. Republicans have organized
dangerous and reprehensible smear campaigns against the Tea Party and
conservatives, and we can not let them go unanswered. Additionally,
aided by a mainstream media that is complacent and unwilling to
challenge such baseless accusations, there is a danger that if such lies
are left unchallenged, the majority of Americans will begin to believe
them. Your immediate support is needed to fight back against these outrageous smears. Our survival is on the line!
