The Peter Principle is a proposition that states that members
of an organization will eventually be promoted beyond their level of
ability. In politics and politicians, the Peter Principle is expanded to
include the adverse affects of power, money and corruption. In the
case of the current American president, Barack Hussein Obama, it is
abundantly clear that he was promoted (elected .....
twice) way beyond his limited capabilities of organizing
communities. With a multitude of foreign and domestic problems
and national scandals bearing down on him and the disaster that is
Obama Care, he is floundering in panic, even resorting to the unconstitutional
act of changing a law by presidential edict and more lying. His trust
and credibility used up in a plethora of lies and distortions that have now been
exposed, the true Obama is emerging, an image of a hopelessly flawed man whose
past and inadequacies were covered up by a fawning press and an in-attentive,
distracted and non-thinking electorate who was hood winked by Obama's
slick, glib and snake-oil oratory.
But in that emergence of the real
Obama, something else is being exposed ..... liberalism and progressivism.
Born in the early 20th Century in the days of President's Teddy Roosevelt and
Woodrow Wilson, progressivism and the ideology of big government and the flawed
philosophy of Keynesian economics, governments, world wide, have
become notorious examples of the Peter Principle, having
lost their capability to fix complex problems and instead have
bankrupted the planet. Awash in debt to fund an exponentially rising
social agenda, governments, in collusion with central bankers, are bumping
into each other trying to find more money in very creative ways. One such
way in one country (Cyprus) was to confiscate the
retirement funds of its citizens in order to pay for more entitlement
spending and the growing interest on the debt to the central
bankers. Other countries may soon follow.
Liberalism and Progressivism and
their always failed ideology whenever or wherever it is tried, are beginning to
collapse under their own weight and the American people, for the first time, are
getting a good look inside the arrogance, abuse and corruption that have built
up around them. Obama Care is just one more giant failed program that
progressives have inflicted on the American people and the economy, and has
exposed liberalism's gross incompetence, as well as its inflexibility
to acknowledge that the program it created under the Liberalism banner is
failing miserably and damaging millions of Americans. In spite of the
growing failures of Obama Care, the liberals hold onto the program for dear
life, as if it was as important as the air we breath. Some liberals
(Democrats) that have finally realized this
great program they hatched could put many of them back on the streets as private
citizens, are now crying foul to the president as their hopes for
re-election dim rapidly.
It has become abundantly clear that
government is not constituted to develop and manage complex programs and social
schemes. Medicare, Medicaid, DOE, HHS, DHS and the IRS, rife with
waste, fraud, abuse and corruption, are glaring examples of government's
inability to manage anything efficiently, fiscally responsible and
within budget. Liberals apply the
top-down "government model" to all such grandiose
schemes with predictable outcomes. The predictable outcomes are waste,
fraud, abuse and corruption. The "government
model" works on the principle that no one is really in charge and
therefore, no one is responsible for any failures. Any failures are met
with only one solution, the addition of more taxpayer money. Successes
under the liberal "government model" are rare.
Failures are the norm.
Now there is a large segment of the
American population (Conservatives) that is
acutely aware of the failed "government model" under
liberalism and thus champion and promote smaller government, less taxes, less
regulation and a greater reliance on the self-correcting systems of capitalism
and free markets, rather than on dependence on the "government
model." However, since liberalism and progressivism have
been so embedded in our institutions, academia and the news media for the last
century, the utterances and promotions of this large segment are met with
charges of racism, throw granny over the cliff, conservatives hate children and
poor people and conservatives willingly kill the planet with environmental
degradation.
Conservatives are also accused by
liberals of being deniers of the "absolutely" proven "science" of man-caused
global warming. In fact, 97% of 75 scientists have concrete evidence,
from questionable computer models, that man is the sole cause of rising world
temperatures, in spite of volumes of observable data that proves just the
opposite. Only liberals believe in man-caused global warming.
Why? Because liberals believe in the "government
model" of top-down control of all humans on a planet-wide
scale, for the purposes of implementing social equity and wealth re-distribution
from rich countries to poor countries and from wealthy people to poor
people. The liberal "government model" is a sure
vote getter from the masses. Could "buying" votes be their
motive?
The saddest part is that liberalism
and progressivism find no room in their ideology for the uniquely American
attributes of individual freedom, self-reliance, independence, individual
responsibility and the adherence to the principles of the U. S.
Constitution. It was those individual attributes and our Constitution
that made America the richest, most powerful and most generous nation on
Earth. It was dependence on the "government
model", which in fact has made a growing segment of the American
population and the nation as a whole, greedy, immoral, weak, lazy and
mediocre. It is the wealth created from these very attributes that
liberals use to fund their socialist agenda ..... to
buy votes.
The crystal clear window into
liberalism and progressivism is Obama Care. With the Obama Care
legislation only passed by Democrats (liberals) it
is owned by Democrats lock, stock and barrel. Democrats own whatever
the outcome of Obama Care will be and it will be a fitting pay back for their
arrogant, know-it-all paternalism.
The conservatives in the U. S. House
and Senate knew what this legislation meant and not a single conservative voted
for the law. They knew that the liberal "government
model" would make a mess of it. They knew that millions of
Americans would lose their health insurance and shoved kicking and screaming
into the health care exchanges. Even Obama and those in his Administration
knew right after the law was passed because they wrote it into the law.
Conservatives knew you could not add
30,000,000 more Americans to a health care system with a limited number of
doctors, nurses, hospitals and ambulances without driving up costs, lower
quality and increase wait times. They knew that doctors would jump
ship even before the law was implemented. They knew you could not expand
the benefits of a one-size-fits-all health care package and not see health care
costs rise exponentially. They knew that the nationalization of the
American health care system would eliminate the right of free choice for
individuals and small and large businesses to choose, of their own
free will, the health care plan that fits them. Conservatives knew all
this and they told us well in advance of the passage of the law and they
continued to tell us as the law was being implemented. During the August
2009 town hall meetings with politicians, before Obama Care was passed in March
of 2011, the people themselves told the politicians loud and clear, what
conservatives were telling the nation, "Obama Care would destroy
America and freedom."
Liberals (Democrats) would not listen and in collusion with the
media, academia and Hollywood, they kept promoting and pushing the plan,
while the President lied through his teeth, multiple times. Now, with the roll out of the law turning into a monumental
debacle, what the conservatives told us is all coming true and the liberals
are running for cover, a cover they will not find. As is usual for the
liberal "government model", no one in government is
responsible for the Obama Care failure and no one is suffering the consequences
of being fired, being brought up on criminal charges, or facing
impeachment. It is a known fact that not one person has been fired or
reprimanded for the scandals of Fast and Furious, Benghazi, IRS, NSA spying, or
the Justice Department warrants against the Associated Press and James
Rosen of Fox News. Conservative U. S. House members are trying to gin up
articles of impeachment against Attorney General Eric Holder, but the Articles
will go nowhere in the Democrat-controlled Senate.
Liberals are either looking for a
place to hide, blaming each other, or covering each other's
tails. This failed, corrupt liberal "government
model" is an embarrassment for America, the American people and
the political process, but more importantly, it is a revelation of
the abject failure of liberalism and progressivism.
It remains to be seen whether Obama
Care will be "fixed" or scrapped. Unfortunately, the damage to the
American people and to our economy has been done. How deep those
damages will be and whether America will recover from them, does not
appear in our crystal ball.
Whether liberal motives and
their own specific "government model" are truly
altruistic but hopelessly misguided, or just plain evil, we will leave to
the judgment of history. However, to those of us who are paying attention,
liberals may have "risen to the level of their own
destruction." Liberalism, through the window of Obama
Care, has been exposed for what it is ..... the manifestation of a failed,
reckless ideology with disastrous consequences for America and ALL
Americans.
Obama's arrogance, ignorance and
incompetence, along with his signature achievement, Obama Care, are a
lethal cocktail indeed and it could possibly bring down liberalism, but the
greatest fear is that it could end up being the destruction of America and
American freedom.
Nevertheless, we must remember that
any group of men or women can be corrupted by power and money, conservative,
independent, or liberal. The only force that can keep any group from
being corrupted are the people themselves, unless they too are corrupt, immoral,
or just plain ignorant.
As testimony to that corruption, in
an unprecented power grab, the U. S. Senate, with a majority vote by Democrats,
on Thursday, November 21st, 2013 changed the rules of the Senate to eliminate
filibusters on presidential nominees, for the first time in American
history. With that vote, Democrats just turned our Constitution Republic
into a Democracy where the MOB (think Democrat)
rules. Thomas Jefferson wrote the rules of the Senate in order to make it
difficult to pass laws where the majority would try to shove a law down the
people's throat with a simple majority vote. The Democrats changed the
rules to pass Obama Care. Now they have turned the Senate into a
collective dictatorship where the prevailing party can do whatever it damn well
pleases. Remember this day for it shall live in infamy and the American
people will live to regret what the Democrats have done with Obama Care and with
the changing of the Senate rules with the "Nuclear Option." Long
live His Royal Heinous King Obama and his loyal Knight, the corrupt
Baron of DC, Harry Reid.
