OBAMA ENDORSES SEX EDUCATION FOR KINDERGARTNERS!

Good morning, Jim. After President Obama said, "Sex Ed for Kindergartners Is the Right Thing to Do," I remembered that sex education in Georgia was a big issue in 1992 when the Georgia Sex Education Review Committee met stiff opposition against mandatory K – 12 sex education that was based on community standards, at that time.

But, in 1994, the national Centers for Disease Control went far beyond community standards to publish a five-volume sex education series that adopted international standards and dropped sex education that was based on traditional morality of abstinence until marriage. Their focus was on safer sex that would avoid pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease and AIDS.

Now, in 2013, a campaign spokesman said the curriculum Obama mentioned is the one produced by the Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) that was organized in 1964, shortly after an international symposium about universal sex ed. By 1977 health educators in the United States had scrapped the customary health and hygiene lessons based on traditional morality and had adopted international sex ed based on the situation ethics of humanism.

Now, we’re confronted with National Sexuality Education Standards designed to indoctrinate students with what they "should know and be able to do" by grade level. "What students should know and be able to do," are two goals of outcome-based education. The third goal, "what students should be like," is not listed in the manual. However, the "be-like" attitudinal changes expected of students is evident in the predicted outcomes, which are outlined as follows:

Second graders must "identify healthy ways for friends to express feelings to each other." Fifth graders must "define sexual orientation as romantic attractions to someone of the same gender or a different gender." Eighth graders must "differentiate between gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation; define emergency contraception and its use; and describe how many ways people express affection in various relationships." Twelfth graders must tell the difference between biological sex, sexual orientation, sexual behavior, gender and sexual identity."

So, current sexuality courses may begin with biological male and female identity, but they expand into sexual orientation, sexual behavior and gender identity, regardless of community standards or traditional morality.
