CHUCK MUTH PRESENTS

THE BILBRAY FILES

Bilbray-Kohn Steals Pages from Joe Heck’s
Job Creation Handbook

In a Q&A interview with Andrew Doughman of the Las Vegas Sun, Democrat congressional candidate Erin Bilbray-Kohn coughed up a few fuzzballs.

When asked why she was running, Bilbray-Kohn said she “kept watching as my friends and neighbors were losing their homes and their jobs” while Congress, “instead of focusing on jobs and creating a more secure economy, wasn’t doing its job, and that’s what finally pushed me.”

Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m not buying that “Made in DC” cookie-cutter response for a minute.  But let’s accept it for argument’s sake.  Which raises the question I’ve asked before:

What would Bilbray-Kohn do, as a freshman congresswoman, likely in the minority party, that would create more jobs and a more secure economy?  Inquiring minds wanna know.

This much we do know.  When Bilbray-Kohn’s party was in control of the White House, the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives, it passed the so-called “stimulus” bill that was supposed to create jobs and a more secure economy.

It didn’t.  All it did was create more debt, not more jobs.

So if elected, would Bilbray-Kohn push for another stimulus bill…or will she concede that approach was an utter and total failure?

And if another stimulus isn’t the answer, what is?  Inquiring minds wanna know.

So I surfed over to Bilbray-Kohn’s rather skimpy “On the Issues” page of her campaign website and here’s her recipe for creating more jobs…

“Congress can help small businesses succeed by getting out of the way; we need to cut red tape and excessive regulation, encourage banks to lend again and provide tax relief for small businesses.”

Wait.  I swear I’ve heard that sort of thing before.  Now, where did I hear it?

Oh, yeah, that’s right.  From EVERY Republican under the sun, including Rep. Joe Heck, the Republican incumbent Bilbray-Kohn is trying to unseat.

But what about “creating a more secure economy”?  What are Bilbray-Kohn’s bold new plans for doing that?

Again, from her very own website…

“Congress needs to take a lesson from Nevada families and live within its means. I will work to cut wasteful spending and take away Congress' credit card…”

Amen and hallelujah!

But wait.  Again, I think I’ve heard that before, too.

Yes, yes…it’s right out of the GOP’s Conservative Handbook; I believe on page 78.  Right next to a picture of Joe Heck cutting up Uncle Sam’s “American Excess” card!

Kidding aside, does anyone really believe Democrat Erin Bilbray-Kohn actually believes in these Republican notions on creating jobs and a more secure economy?

And even if she does, why should we exchange a Republican serving in the majority party who really, truly believes in them for a Democrat who never in a million years would be allowed by Nancy Pelosi to actually vote for them?

Mrs. Bilbray-Kohn appears to be running on a Republican platform just to get elected.  She’s lucky there are no truth-in-labeling laws that apply to political campaigns.
