The National Park Service’s closure of the World War II and other memorials violates rules requiring them to stay open, 94 House members charge in a letter to the agency.
Led by Michigan Republican Rep. Bill Huizenga, they claim that Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis is simply making up closure rules to punish the public during the government shutdown and they question the costs of the random closures in Washington where not all memorials are being closed.  LINK

   Do you understand what is happening?
The Park Service removes the handles from water fountains to make it hard on visitors and travelers.  How many employees are there doing this kind of disservice, and how much is that costing.  At the same time we are told there is no money to keep the parks open. And what did it cost to install fences to keep people, including veterans in wheelchairs, out of the WWII Memorial?  And what is it costing to guard the ocean and keep people from using the beaches around Key Biscayne and the Florida Keys?  And what has it cost to guard military bases to prevent Catholic priests from giving services to those in the military?
   In Yellowstone Park the rangers have forbid autos to stop, or people to get out to look around.   People were not even allowed to use the restroom facilities, and had to drive 2 1/2 hours out of the park before they could reach toilets.   (I will respectfully not state here what this citizen would have done to relieve himself!)
   Face the facts.  A criminal administration is running our government.

Yet both parties saw it as the first break in Republicans’ brinkmanship and a step toward a fiscal truce.
Twenty Republicans, led by Speaker John A. Boehner, went to the White House at Mr. Obama’s invitation after a day of fine-tuning their offer to increase the Treasury Department’s authority to borrow money to pay existing obligations through Nov. 22. In exchange, they sought the president’s commitment to negotiate a deal for long-term deficit reduction and a tax overhaul.
Mr. Boehner and his colleagues left after about an hour and a half without speaking to waiting reporters.

Those Affected by a Recent Rule Reversal Should Immediately Email the NH Department of Safety
   On October 8, 2013, the Association of New Jersey Rifle & Pistol Clubs (ANJRPC) and its Executive Director Scott Bach filed suit against the New Hampshire Department of Safety over an illegal rule reversal that prevents Garden State residents and others from qualifying for New Hampshire non-resident carry licenses.     The change requires applicants to have a carry license from their home state in order to qualify for the New Hampshire non-resident license. Those living where carry permits are difficult or impossible to obtain, like New Jersey, can no longer qualify for the New Hampshire license, simply because of where they happen to live -- and for no other reason    LINK
