Dear Patriot,
The
Cape Wind Project is an unnecessary, costly, and dangerous wind energy
farm off the coast of Nantucket Sound in Massachusetts. Not
only is this bad for all Americans, but even the locals are against it.
Their concern: Cost and potential impact on the environment.
This project would create
government subsidized energy and the price consumers would pay for that
energy will be among the most expensive in the country. Energy costs via
this Cape Wind project would be two to three times as expensive as
conventional rates. This hefty price tag has caused the backers of this
latest ‘green energy project’ to seek outside funding from a bank in
Japan. The bank is interested in financing this venture under one
condition. They want the Department of Energy to guarantee the loan! That guarantee, if approved, would be backed and paid for by taxpayer dollars.
The United States cannot afford
to back yet another failed green energy program. Obama’s commitment to
reward his green energy buddies with special treatment in the form of
loans on the backs of the taxpayers must stop. Since Solyndra, there
have been countless other incidents of green cronyism by the Obama
administration which to date has cost taxpayers over $3 billion.
The Cape Wind Project, if its
demise is similar to that of Solyndra and countless other green energy
companies, would nearly double that number if the DOE agrees to back the
funding of the loan courtesy of the taxpayers. We must stop Obama’s green cronyism!!
