1. Why GOP Leadership Is Going Along With the Syrian Misadventure
During
the glory days of the Contract with America, Newt Gingrich used to
preach that we needed issues with 60% support from the American people.
Regardless of your feelings on Obama’s harebrained planned for military
intervention in Syria, you have to look askance at why John Boehner and
Eric Cantor decided to support the authorization to use military force
in Syria when 80% (+/-) of Americans oppose the deal.

At this point, all I can hope is that the Republican primaries are devastating to incumbent Republicans.
The ads
write themselves — [Insert Incumbent Republican here] would not fight to
defund Obamacare, but would fund a fight with Syria.

4. Kerry was for boots on the ground before he was against them
During
yesterday’s Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the possible
authorization of U.S. military action against the Syrian government,
Secretary of State John Kerry got tripped up once again with his
tendency to be consistently inconsistent.
Kerry was
asked by the Committee Chairman, New Jersey’s Democrat Senator Bob
Menendez, whether the administration would accept a prohibition against
having American boots on the ground. In response, Kerry first said it
would be “preferable not to” to have such a prohibition. He then engaged
in some of his infamous nuancing, saying there isn’t “any intention or
any plan or any desire whatsoever to have boots on the ground” in Syria,

6. State Agency in Wisconsin Gave Thousands to Liberal Think Tank
The
Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development is currently awarding
$130,000 to the Center on Wisconsin Strategy, a liberal think-tank
housed at the University of Wisconsin. The DWD is a state agency that is
supposed to report to Governor Scott Walker. The Center on Wisconsin
Strategy (COWS), although housed at the University of Wisconsin, is a
heavily ideological organization led by Professor Joel Rogers, who has
advised the Obama Administration on so-called green policies.
