Members of a Florida ACT! for America chapter, along with members of a Florida organization called Citizens for National Security, recently got the attention of elected officials and local school board members regarding the pro-Islamic bias in a Florida approved school textbook.

“This special treatment of Islam consists of devoting many more pages to Islam when compared to any other religion in an approximate ratio of 72 to one.” - State Representative Ritch Workman.

OUCH! SENATE GLOBAL WARMING HEARING BACKFIRES ON DEMOCRATS AND SENATOR BOXER
During the recent US Senate Environment and Public Works hearings, Sen. David Vitter asked a panel of experts, including experts selected by Boxer,“Can any witnesses say they agree with Obama’s statement that warming has accelerated during the past 10 years?”

For several seconds, nobody said a word. Sitting just a few rows behind the expert witnesses, I thought I might have heard a few crickets chirping, but I couldn’t tell for sure..

During the Q & A session of this first town hall meeting in Orlando, Florida, Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson gave a very interesting answer to a question posed by 9th Circuit Court Judge Roger J. McDonald, on whether the idea of tying the American minimum wage to the gross income of big corporations should be considered.

Congressman Grayson was asked, “How do you get corporations to pay their fair share of the social burden?”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILTON FRIEDMAN, A CLASSY AND CLASSICAL LIBERAL!

In 1962 Milton Friedman, with his wife Rose, wrote Capitalism and Freedom.  The book was rejected by both academia and the media. The ideas in “Capitalism and Freedom” were vindicated in 1980 when the Friedmans published Free to  Choose.
As Friedman wrote in his 2002 preface to Capitalism and Freedom, “I documented  a dramatic shift in the climate of opinion”. That climatic shift was “[P]artly because the role of government was exploding under the influence of [the] initial welfare state and Keynesian views … That change in the climate had its effect. It paved the way for the election of Margaret Thatcher in Britain and Ronald Reagan in the United States.”

TWO FLORIDA FAMILIES AFFECTED BY NEW CONGRESSIONAL PROBE OF “EXTORTION 17″
