UNIONS ARE PROVING TO BE ANTI-CHRISTIAN



Dear Conservatives,

Workers who dare to exercise their rights and refuse to toe the union-boss line are often bombarded with threats, harassment, or retaliation.

Even workers with religious objections to union membership aren't spared from Big Labor's intimidation.

In fact, they are frequently victimized by particularly insidious -- and illegal -- forms of discrimination.

Because workers with religious objections to union membership have the right to ask to have any forced fees diverted to a charity, that discrimination often takes the form of refusing to honor such requests.

An Ohio teacher union boss once told a veteran teacher she must "change religions" if she wanted the union to accept her right to a religious accommodation
.



National Right to Work Foundation staff attorneys won in court for that teacher, and are now providing free legal aid to an air traffic controller who is the victim of overt discrimination and punishment for resigning from union membership.

A Seventh-day Adventist, Matthew Gray believes union membership is contrary to his faith.

But after Gray exercised his right to resign, a National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) union official informed him he was being transferred to a different work detail because he resigned, forcing him to work in an area in which he was regularly assigned work on Saturdays, which would violate another tenet of his faith.

Gray filed charges against the NATCA union and the Federal Aviation Administration, his employer, with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Federal Labor Relations Authority.

Adding insult to injury, a commenter on the Foundation's website purporting to be a NATCA union member openly mocked Gray and his religion.

"I find your stupidity, ignorance and even your religion HILARIOUS," the union militant seethed.

No worker should be mocked, let alone punished, for their deeply-held religious beliefs.
