Dear Nevada Activist,
Our NumbersUSA Hill team has told me that your Senator, Dean Heller, has not decided how he will vote on S 744 - the Gang of 8's amnesty bill.
Majority Leader Harry Reid has said that debate on the bill will start on June 10th with a vote happening soon after. This week, Sen. Heller is in state for the last recess before the vote.
Tonight, Senator Heller is attending a "Path to Citizenship Public Assembly" in Reno. This event is blatantly pushing amnesty. I hope you use the tools I provide below to counter this pro-amnesty event!
Make sure your voice is heard this week. Don't let your Senator vote for this bill to appease wealthy special interests because she did not hear enough opposition from Nevada voters. What Sen. Heller hears at home this week will have a profound impact on how he votes.
Listed below are several ways you can make sure Senator Heller knows that you oppose S 744. Please remember that each type of activism has a different level of impact.
1. Post a message to his Facebook wall. Impact level = 1 email
"I am an Nevada voter who opposes the Gang of 8's immigration bill. It fails to fix our broken system or put an end to illegal immigration. It is amnesty first with a weak promise of enforcement later. I am asking you to please vote "NO" on S 744."
2. Tweet a message to your Senator Impact level = 1 email
You can use our pre-written tweets. Just make sure you are signed into your Twitter account and click the links below.
3. Attend a town hall or other event where your Senator is in attendance. Impact level = 100 emails
Path to Citizenship Public Assembly: Wednesday, May 29th
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:15 p.m.
Where: St. Therese Church of the Little Flower
875 E. Plumb Lane, Reno, NV 89502
In addition to this town hall, Sen. Heller may be attending little league baseball games, visiting diners, speaking at a Rotary Club or VFW meeting, etc. These are great chances to give him our Nevada poll numbers or just tell him face-to-face that you oppose the bill.
4. Or, attend a meeting with his staff on the road. Impact level = 50 emails
Many Senators hold "mobile office hours" or "traveling office hours." These events are when Senate staffers travel around the state and meet with constituents usually in smaller towns that are not close to the permanent Senate offices.
5. None of the above? Make an office visit. Impact level = 20 emails
If the least you can do is take 10 minutes out of your day to drop off materials to a Senate office, please do! NumbersUSA has some very vital materials that your Senator needs to see including polling and the list of flaws in the bill. The staffers in the offices should be available to take your materials and your message.

Some helpful materials for you to bring to any meeting or town hall...
The Gang of 8's amnesty bill will not fix the broken system or stop illegal immigration. Rather, it will repeat the mistakes of 1986 by giving amnesty first (work permits and a legal status) to illegal aliens and only promises enforcement later. Read NumbersUSA's two-pager on the bill.
Latest polls show that an overwhelming majority is against this process. Americans clearly want enforcement first. You can print out these poll numbers to bring with you.
Please be aware that all the materials you may need to have a successful week of activism and keep up with news on the bill can be found here.
If you would like additional materials please including the full poll from Nevada, email me and I will make sure to get those materials to you promptly. Also please email me with any feedback from an office visit or meeting.
Thank you for your time,
