infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. Haven't heard about these sickening accusations?
It's not your fault. Since the murder trial of Pennsylvania abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell began March 18, there has been precious little coverage of the case that should be on every news show and front page. The revolting revelations of Gosnell's former staff, who have been testifying to what they witnessed and did during late-term abortions, should shock anyone with a heart.
NBC-10 Philadelphia reported that, Stephen Massof, a former Gosnell worker, "described how he snipped the spinal cords of babies, calling it, 'literally a beheading. It is separating the brain from the body." One former worker, Adrienne Moton, testified that Gosnell taught her his "snipping" technique to use on infants born alive.
Massof, who, like other witnesses, has himself pleaded guilty to serious crimes, testified "It would rain fetuses. Fetuses and blood all over the place." Here is the headline the Associated Press put on a story about his testimony that he saw 100 babies born and then snipped: "Staffer describes chaos at PA abortion clinic."
"Chaos" isn't really the story here. Butchering babies that were already born and were older than the state's 24-week limit for abortions is the story. There is a reason the late Democratic senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan called this procedure infanticide.
Planned Parenthood recently claimed that the possibility of infants surviving late-term abortions was "highly unusual." The Gosnell case suggests otherwise.
Regardless of such quibbles, about whether Gosnell was killing the infants one second after they left the womb instead of partially inside or completely inside the womb — as in a routine late-term abortion — is merely a matter of geography. That one is murder and the other is a legal procedure is morally irreconcilable.
A Lexis-Nexis search shows none of the news shows on the three major national television networks has mentioned the Gosnell trial in the last three months. The exception is when Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan hijacked a segmenton Meet the Press meant to foment outrage over an anti-abortion rights law in some backward red state.
The Washington Post has not published original reporting on this during the trial andThe New York Times saw fit to run one original story on A-17 on the trial's first day. They've been silent ever since, despite headline-worthy testimony.
Let me state the obvious. This should be front page news. When Rush Limbaugh attacked Sandra Fluke, there was non-stop media hysteria. The venerable NBC Nightly News' Brian Williams intoned, "A firestorm of outrage from women after a crude tirade from Rush Limbaugh," as he teased a segment on the brouhaha. Yet, accusations of babies having their heads severed — a major human rights story if there ever was one — doesn't make the cut.
You don't have to oppose abortion rights to find late-term abortion abhorrent or to find the Gosnell trial eminently newsworthy. This is not about being "pro-choice" or "pro-life." It's about basic human rights.
The deafening silence of too much of the media, once a force for justice in America, is a disgrace.

According to a Pennsylvania grand jury, Dr. Kermit Gosnell, the wealthy Philadelphia abortionist now on trial for seven counts of murdering babies who had survived his late-term abortions, repeatedly sliced the necks of born babies in front of a teenage employee, and once told his long-time assistant (the teenager’s mother) that a writhing born baby whose neck he had just severed was like a “chicken with its head cut off.”
“Ashley Baldwin also saw Gosnell slice the neck of moving and breathing babies,” said the report of the grand jury that recommended charging Gosnell with multiple counts of murder.
Baldwin’s mother, Tina, worked for nine years as Gosnell’s assistant. The teenager herself went to work for the abortionist when she was a 15-year-old high school sophomore.

"Ashley Baldwin also saw Gosnell slice the neck of moving and breathing babies," said the report of the grand jury that recommended charging Gosnell with multiple counts of murder.
Baldwin's mother, Tina, worked for nine years as Gosnell's assistant. The teenager herself went to work for the abortionist when she was a 15-year-old high school sophomore.
"Although Ashley was just a teenager and still in high school, Gosnell had her assisting with procedures, performing ultrasounds, intravenously sedating patients, and assisting patients as they delivered in Gosnell’s absence," said the report. "Gosnell claimed to her mother that allowing the teen to essentially practice medicine was legal, through a 'grandfather clause' which permitted him to train workers and avoid certification requirements. Ashley worked as much as 50 hours a week, into the early morning hours, while a full-time high school student."
On multiple occassions, this teenage girl saw the abortionist slit the necks of living babies after they had been born.
"When asked how many times Ashley had observed babies being delivered that were moving or breathing or crying and the doctor cut the neck, she answered: 'Most of the second tris that were over 20 weeks,'" said the report. "She said this happened probably dozens of times, maybe more. She described at least 10 babies as big enough to buy clothes for, to dress, and to take care of."
In her grand jury testimony, Ashley Badlwin had the following exchange:
Question: "And what happened to those ten babies that came out from their mother, that were big enough that you could put clothes on and take home and take care of, that moved around, what did you see happen to them?"
Ashley Baldwin: "He killed them."
Question: "Who killed them?
Ashley Baldwin: "Doc."
Question: "How did he kill them?"
Ashley Baldwin: "He cut the back of the neck."
The teenager told the grand jury that Gosnell told her this was normal.
Ashley's mother, Gosnell's longtime assistant, told the grand jury about a gruesome remark Gosnell made after severing the neck of a baby that had survived one of his abortions.
"Tina Baldwin," said the report, "told the jurors that Gosnell once joked about a baby that was writhing as he cut its neck: 'That’s what you call a chicken with its head cut off.'"
The grand jury charged both Tina Baldwin and Gosnell with corrupting the morals of a minor for their treatment of Ashley.
"We charge Gosnell and Tina Baldwin, his employee, with corrupting the morals of a minor," said the report. "Gosnell hired Tina’s 15-year-old daughter as a staff member. She was required to work 50-hour weeks, starting after school until past midnight, during which she was exposed to the full horrors of Gosnell’s practice. Bad enough that he expected grown-ups to do it."

How to Murder the Innocent, Defenseless, and Undefended—and Make Bi... By Jim ONeill @ Canada Free Press
“He was supposed to puncture the lower back of the baby’s skull and insert a tube to suck out its brains before it was fully delivered. Instead, he just delivered the baby alive and then killed it, which is illegal. ...[He] killed live, viable, moving, breathing, crying babies. He killed them by cutting their spinal cords after their mothers had delivered them...” —Tom McLaughlin “The Women’s Medical Society”
If you are unaware of the trial taking place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of the abortion doctor (I use the term “doctor” loosely) Kermit Gosnell, I am not surprised. Our feckless, spineless, corrupt and statist-drivenmedia have done their best to sweep it all under the rug. Hear no evil, see no evil when it comes to their sacred cows you know.
Dr. Gosnell is on trial for murdering infants. You see, instead of killing them inside their mother’s body (legal), he killed them outside of their mother’s body (illegal). The website “Pundit & Pundette” reported the testimony of an assistant who worked for Dr. Gosnell describing one of the murdered infants: “It was ‘screeching, making this noise’ that ‘sounded like a little alien,’ she said. It ‘really freaked me out,’ she said, causing her to leave the room.
‘Making this noise...like an alien?’ That’s called crying. It’s what human babies do when they’re in distress, in this case, the ultimate distress. The ‘aliens’ here are the inhuman monsters who caused that distress. So...if a baby screams during an outside-the-uterus ‘abortion,’ does it make a sound? Or, to put it another way, if an abortionist goes on trial for murdering infants, but the mediarefuses to cover it, is it really happening? And does America care?”
Hard for America to care when America doesn’t know—and Americawon’t know if the MSM has its way. This point was driven home by FoxNews analyst Kirsten Powers in a recent article of hers in “USA Today” (kudos to “USA Today” for printing it).
“Infant beheadings. Severed baby feet in jars. A child screaming after it was delivered alive during an abortion procedure. ...Let me state the obvious. This should be front page news. ...The deafening silence of too much of the media, once a force for justice in America, is a disgrace.”
A disgrace indeed, but unfortunately par for the course these days—“we the people” have come to expect such skewed myopic tunnel-vision from our media/propaganda outlets. Thomas Lifson describes their blatantly prejudiced attitude succinctly: “They are whoring out their journalistic principles and desperately suppressing information that is harmful to their ideological positions.”
The inimitable Mark Steyn opines that “The U.S. media’s unanimous agreement to see no evil is sick and totalitarian. A very small consolation is that, with news judgments like these, the wretched American press is doing a pretty good job of sawing through its own neck.”
Speaking of “sick and totalitarian,” this would be an opportune time to tie together the various topics of Nazi fascism, eugenics, population control, Margaret Sanger, narcissistic amorality, “civilized” barbarism, and the like—but as I was writing this articleit occurred to me that simply getting the word out about the evil that has been committed takes precedence over other concerns, so...
As we near the end of this article I might mention that the Philadelphia D.A. estimates that Dr. Gosnell made between $10,000 to $15,000 a day from his abortion mill (that does not include the money he made from the illegal sale of prescription drugs, which was considerable, but does not concern us here). And before anyone leaps to his defense as a “champion of women’s rights,” I suggest you look over the D.A.‘s report in that regard. For example:
“One woman...was left lying in place for hours after Gosnell tore her cervix and colon while trying, unsuccessfully, to extract the fetus. Relatives who came to pick her up were refused entry into the building; they had to threaten to call thepolice. They eventually found her inside, bleeding and incoherent, and transported her to the hospital, where doctors had to remove almost half a foot of her intestines.”
I will conclude with a sobering thought. The police originally raided Dr. Gosnell’s “House of Horrors” because he was overprescribing Oxycontin—not because he was murdering infants. One wonders how many other “Dr. Gosnell’s” there are spread across the country, flying under the radar—how many other “Houses of Horror” funded by our taxpayer dollars.
It took them long enough, but the media has finally been shamed into reporting on the murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell. If not for social media their readers and viewers never would have ....
