The farther you get from a source of light, the dimmer the light becomes. In fact there is a law in physics called the Inverse Square Law that says when you double the distance from a light source, the light is dimmed by 4 times. The dawn of the bright "light" of freedom occurred some 221 years ago when the Constitution was ratified by the 13 colonies. Four presidential terms later, after freedom's light was lit, according to the Inverse Square Law, freedom's light was 16 times dimmer. But freedom's light started to grow dimmer even before the fourth presidential term. The second president of the United States, John Adams, one of the drafters of the U. S. Constitution, passed the "Aliens and Sedition Act" that was so contrary to constitutional principles that Adams might just as well have set fire to the constitution right then and there. When Jefferson became president he had the law repealed, but by then the cat was out of the bag and breaking the Constitution got just a little easier.
How dim is the light of freedom today, some 54 presidential, 4-year terms into the future? It is just about as dim as the farthest star in the sky and that is why our presidents have become more and more dictatorial, congress has become weaker and more pathetic and we get high-court decisions that bear no resemblance to the original intent of the framers of the constitution. The light of freedom is just too far away for it to have any impact on the actions of government, academia, the news media, or even the people, in today's world. Was Thomas Jefferson right when he said: "The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants?" Probably, because that seems to be the only way to re-ignite the light of freedom and start it burning all over again so the government and the people can see it from where they are standing.
So what do we get when freedom's light is barely perceptible in the distant past? We got President Wilson who took great issue with the Constitution and believed in a world government, then took us into World War I after promising he wouldn't. So much for promises! Then we got the League of Nations from President Wilson, which failed. America wasn't quite ready for the United Nations and the one-world-order yet. Also under President Wilson we got the Federal Reserve and the Internal Revenue Service through the 16th Amendment. Americans have been paying through the nose now for 99 years, while government used the new income taxes to build up constituencies that would vote for them, with handouts from the Public Treasury. Prior to the Federal Reserve, the IRS and income taxes, the government was getting along on about a 3% tax that was "uniform throughout the United States", in keeping with Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1 of the U. S. Constitution. The 16th Amendment changed all that and the 16th Amendment was driven by private bankers and industrialists. The people had no say and their representatives gave into the power of money and political influence. The light of freedom continued to get dimmer.
But what Wilson did pales in comparison to FDR! FDR turned the Constitution on its head by using a national emergency (the Great Depression) that government caused by its own policies, to buy more votes with the New Deal and Social Security. (Remember Rahm Emanuel's, Obama's chief of staff, statement about never letting a good emergency go to waste?) None of what FDR did was constitutional, but he badgered the Congress and bullied the U. S. Supreme Court to get what he wanted and boy did he get what he wanted. He then went on to tell Americans that they have more rights than were contained in the Bill of Rights. According to FDR, these new rights were social rights that came at the cost to the taxpayer, in exchange for votes from the less fortunate among us who were the recipients of FDR's new taxpayer-paid social rights.
Oh, there were dissenters at the time that screamed and yelled at FDR, but the voice of the dissenters was drowned out by the voice of the people saying, "Gimee!", "Gimee!" and "Gimee!" again. They have been crying "Gimee!" ever since and casting their votes for those "great men" that had "compassion" in their hearts for the "little guy", without regard to how they were going to pay for it, other than by pointing a gun at the taxpayer's head and utter those immortal words, "..... pay up and be charitable, or else." But FDR and the Democrats didn't care about the dissenters. They were thinking about all those votes they just bought with your tax dollars. FDR really let the cat out of the bag. The Constitution became more fragmented and diluted and freedom's light grew ever dimmer.
After FDR, the dream of President Wilson was finally realized in 1945 and the world established the United Nations, headquartered in New York City, with the full cooperation and ratification of the U. S. Congress and the President. American taxpayers now pay 22% of the UN's budget while the UN does everything in its power to redistribute America's wealth and resources and works to dismember America's Constitution and dissolve her sovereignty. President Wilson's concept of world government was born again and the United Nations established another obstacle to a straight path back to the bright "light" of American freedom.
Then, of course, we had President Johnson and his "Great Society" where some estimates say that since Johnson America has spent in excess of seventeen trillion dollars (that's $17,000,000,000,000) on the less fortunate among us, but with all that money gone, we still have the less fortunate among us, only in much greater numbers. This doesn't even include what private charities have spent on the less fortunate. If you think that all of your tax money was spent for altruistic reasons, or for compassion, you are delusional. It shattered the Constitution and the taxpayer's money was spent to buy votes so that the politicians could remain in power with those votes. How else did the Democrats have a majority in the Congress for over 40 years after FDR? President Lyndon Baines Johnson put another dark screen between the people and the bright light of freedom, as the Progressive's socialist agenda advanced relentlessly through the Twentieth Century.
Since President Johnson, we have had a few more Democrat presidents and some Republican presidents, all of whom couldn't see the bright light of freedom from where they were standing because it was so dim ..... or they chose to ignore it. These presidents increased the power of government, added more bureaucracies, borrowed more money and increased taxes to pay for it all. The Congress passed more laws, the bureaucracies adopted more rules and state and local government parroted the federal government with more laws, more rules and more taxes.
We're now 54, 4-year presidential terms from the dawn of freedom's light and the light is not just dim, it is 34,294 times dimmer than it was in 1791, that is according to the Inverse Square Law. The government and the people can no longer see freedom, much less define it and that is how a Glimmer Man, a snake-oil salesman, a con artist and an incompetent (Obama) got elected to be President of the United States. That is why Obama's government was able to nationalize the auto and health care industries and weren't challenged effectively. That is why the U. S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of Obama Care and throughout the last two centuries has literally dismantled the Constitution.
Since the light of freedom is so dim, that is why the "Gimee!" people are clamoring for more and that is why they will vote for the Glimmer Man. (the "Glimmer Man" is used as a metaphor for bureaucratic intrusion into privacy) Once the Glimmer Man becomes a God to the "Gimee!" people, as Obama has become, the light of freedom will have been extinguished forever and the bright light of freedom is so dim now, it might as well not even exist.
"The Parallax Prophecies" predicts that even if conservatives manage to take all three branches of the federal and state governments in 2012 and start to trim government to save it from fiscal suicide, the "Gimee!" people will rise again in two years and replace the U. S. House and the Senate with the irrational compassionate ones, the Glimmer Men, the snake-oil salesmen, the con artist and the incompetent, to preserve the "Gimme!" people's largess. In four years they will elect another Glimmer Man, a snake-oil salesmen, a con artist and an incompetent to be President of the United States, in what can only be called a never-ending circle of a self-fulfilling prophecy, when America joins Europe with riots in the streets and descends into the gates of Hell.
The "Gimee!" people have tasted the "free" life and will not be denied their largess, even if the country goes bankrupt in the process. And this will come to pass because the bright light of freedom that shines with the brilliance of individual, unalienable, God-given rights, can no longer be seen. It has been snuffed out by the irrational compassion of those who represent us in order to remain in power and by the "Gimee!" people who gave up their liberty for security and a "free" lunch, in exchange for their loyalty and votes for the Glimmer Men. That light has also been severely diminished by the power brokers and the central bankers, and the corrupt politicians that dance to the song of the highest bidders. Between the power brokers, central bankers, corrupt politicians and the "Gimee!" people, American freedom might just as well be dead.
But ladies and gentlemen, this is what happens when the people in a free society stop looking to themselves to solve their problems and start putting their trust in government. Putting trust in government is like willingly handing your money over to the thief, at the point of a gun, in the hopes that he will spend your money more wisely than you. It is an inescapable reality that when self-reliance, independence and individual responsibility go away, liberty goes with them and dependency and blind obedience to authority take their place.
Barack Hussein Obama, an incompetent Glimmer Man extraordinaire, is the patron saint and savior of the "Gimee!" people and they will exalt and praise him as the chosen one, in spite of his dismal record as President for the last 4 years, in spite of his devious and secret past and in spite of his lousy performance in the first presidential debate. His re-election in 2012 may be all but assured because there are now more "Gimee!" people than there are those that believe in and practice self-reliance, independence and individual responsibility.
In reality, Obama is nothing more than a Commander-in-Thief who threw individual, unalienable rights and the Constitution of the United States of America to the winds, to be scattered amongst the graveyards of failed nations, as have many of his predecessors since the birth of the light of freedom, 221 years ago. The Glimmer Men and the "Gimee!" people have allowed the Inverse Square Law to determine America's final destiny and this final destiny will become a reality when the Glimmer Men run out of "other people's money" to re-distribute to the "Gimee!" people, or "other people's money" decide to revolt and say "NO MORE!", in the spirit of Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged".
Of course, some of the American people can stop it, that is if they have the courage to get their hands dirty and jump into the fray. But you must remember, it can't be done with just your vote every two or four years. It will take much more than that.
A message to our readers: In the interest of a full disclosure, last week's column on "Obama Pakistan Treason" was an experiment in journalistic tomfoolery. That's right, there is no Amil and there is no Amil's brother that was with Obama when he visited Pakistan in 1981. We made the whole thing up as an experiment to see if people would believe the saga because they wanted to believe it, or if some would question the story as being pure fiction. We also did it as parity to what Senator Reid did on the floor of the Senate by attacking Romney with a fabricated tattletale who purportedly worked at Brain Capital and knew Romney.
So far, almost everyone has taken the story as gospel. Now if you feel you have been duped, you have, but then you are being duped every day by what the government, academia and the news media put out. Truth is the first casualty of political corruption, and America is so deep in corruption and abuse of power and the population is so dumbed-down, it is questionable if the original vision of individual freedom and a Constitutional Republic are even salvageable?
Nevertheless, Amil's story was a lead in to who Obama really is. The information we inserted about Obama being the least vetted president in history and all of the questions and devious associations Obama has had and continues to have with Muslims, communists, socialists and terrorists, was factual to the best of our knowledge. This doesn't even include his dismal record as president for the last 3.5 years.
This column and our remaining columns, up to the Election Day in November, will be devoted to defining Obama as best we can, in the hopes that maybe a few minds will be changed. Unfortunately, our messages are mostly falling on the choir and the beguiled and changing those beguiled minds that are locked in party blindness, may be a futile effort.
But our duping you with our last article can't hold a candle to how the government, academia and the news media are and have been duping you for decades. If you want to get a picture of the real duping that has been shoved down your throats for the last 100 years, we encourage you to read Beverly Eakman's new book "Agenda Games." Her book "rips the face off of politics-as-usual in America." Beverly says "Americans today are being played-Big Time! The average voter has become a pawn to a high-stakes poker game of political maneuvering and chicanery that has moved beyond mere competition and challenge, to something more closely resembling combat." She goes on to say that "every sound bite is a surreptitious attempt to shape public opinion and spin events in a game of one-upsmanship." This well-written and comprehensive book by a nationally-known author, is available at Amazon.com at this link: http://www.amazon.com/Agenda-Games-Todays-High-Stakes-Political/dp/0615675433. It is well worth your read.
