STOP UNIONS FROM STEALING ELECTIONS

Dear Conservatives,

"President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march!"

Just over a year ago, Teamster union chief Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. launched Big Labor's battle plan to re-elect Barack Obama.

Union bosses know their unprecedented access to a Big Labor-friendly White House and bureaucracy -- and control of the U.S. Senate -- is at stake, and they will do anything to keep their power.

With the election just seven weeks away, Big Labor is already pulling out all the stops.

And your help is needed right now as you and I take every possible action to fight back against Big Labor's Billion dollar campaign of forced-dues political activism.

Foundation attorneys tell me daily about ever more brazen examples of forced-dues exploitation. Outraged workers flood our offices with complaints of union-boss abuse and requests for help.

Fortunately, our attorneys have a proven track record of battling these schemes -- and winning.

A few months ago, thanks to the efforts of Foundation staff attorneys, the United States Supreme Court struck down yet another electioneering scheme cooked up by an affiliate of the radical Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

You see, back in 2005, SEIU local 1000 union chiefs demanded over 36,000 members and nonmembers alike pay a "special assessment" for a union political action fund.

Specifically, this money was seized to defeat ballot measures aimed at limiting Big Labor's ability to force employees to pay for union-boss politics.

Not only did the High Court strike down the scheme 7-2, the majority also ruled for the first time that union officials must obtain the affirmative consent of nonmembers before collecting a special assessment or mid-year fee increase.

That means union bosses can't force nonmembers to pay a single cent into so-called "emergency" political slush funds.

But here's the rub.

Independent-minded workers who objected to the SEIU's political activity may find some solace in getting their money back and winning a groundbreaking precedent, but the illegally-subsidized political speech can't be unspoken.

In fact, that's precisely why union bosses routinely engage in flagrantly illegal political fundraising schemes.

They know that even if they get caught, the damage may already be done.

That's why it's vital Foundation attorneys be able to act immediately to shut them down when these schemes rear their ugly heads with emergency lawsuits, Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaints, exposure in the media...

...whatever it takes.

And that's why I am asking you to make a special contribution today to help the National Right to Work Foundation fight back.

In this pivotal election year, it's crucial your Foundation dramatically step up efforts to use legal action to block Big Labor's forced-dues-funded political electioneering.

The Foundation's #1 Priority this year is to file strategic new legal actions to compel union officials to comply with prohibitions on collecting and using forced dues to elect their puppet politicians.

Big Labor bosses, by their own admission, are ramping up the biggest forced-dues political spending blitz in history.

Union officials' self-reported numbers reveal they've spent over $2.4 BILLION on politics during the last two election cycles -- money ripped from the pockets of workers who could be fired if they didn't pay up.

And that $2.4 billion doesn't include so called "soft" money Big Labor uses to pollute the American political system.

But the amount they're spending this election may dwarf even those staggering totals. You and I are already witnessing hand-in-hand, coordinated politicking between the union bosses and President Obama.

It's easy to see why the union militants are desperate to do whatever it takes to keep Barack Obama in the White House.

With Big Labor's legislative agenda stalled in Congress, Obama's National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has stepped into the void delivering the union bosses' wish list on a silver platter.

But there is still much more power over workers, businesses and the economy Big Labor seeks.

And key to their strategy is an Obama White House for the next four years and the NLRB remaining firmly in their hip pocket.

I hope you understand what a profound threat we face this year and why your immediate help is so important.

With your help, the Foundation will:
  • Prosecute cases against union activists who illegally seize and spend forced-dues money to get their cronies elected; and to lobby Congress and state legislatures for bigger government, higher taxes and more forced-unionism privileges.
  • Protect popular state Right to Work laws that make union affiliation voluntary in 23 states. Union bosses are mounting end runs around these laws.
  • Expose Big Labor's misdeeds. Every time Foundation attorneys file charges against union bosses for breaking the law, misappropriating union dues or instigating violence against workers, the Foundation hammers the union bosses in the press for their ugly abuses.
Because of your past support, the Foundation has been a much needed watchdog protecting workers' hard-earned money from union-boss thievery . . . like our FEC complaint against SEIU bosses for diverting $26 million in forced dues to its front group, America Coming Together (ACT).

That case ended with an historic fine against ACT, the third largest fine in FEC history -- a fine that sends a clear warning . . .

. . . the union bosses will pay the price for their misdeeds.

But Big Labor can only be held accountable if your Right to Work Foundation has the funds to take legal action.

That's why your help is urgently needed today.

You see, with the November elections just around the corner and the union bosses pouring millions and millions of forced-dues dollars into the campaign coffers of their compulsory unionism allies, there's no time to spare.

So please take a moment right now to chip in with a contribution of $10 or more.

With your help, Foundation attorneys will be able to react immediately against Big Labor's illegal use of forced dues for politics wherever and whenever it occurs.

With the full might of Big Labor's political machine targeted on winning the White House and Senate this November, it's vital that you and I act immediately to stop Big Labor's use of forced dues for politics.

Please make a generous, tax-deductible gift today
. I eagerly await your reply.

Sincerely,

Mark Mix

P.S. With union bosses unleashing their largest forced-dues political leviathan in history, it's vital the Foundation fight back with lawsuits, NLRB charges, FEC complaints and media exposure as soon as Big Labor's abuses occur.

So please join in the fight by chipping in with a tax-deductible gift of $10 or more today.
