"The day a man decides not to face the world, is the day he better stand up!"
Johnny Cobb (James Stewart) from the movie "Firecreek":
We can learn a lot from movies, even though, in most cases, they are fiction. The scripts (screenplays) are written around humans and their behavior under varying circumstances and conditions. Most movies are written around how humans behave in adverse conditions, emotional or physical.
The movie, Firecreek, was a predictable Western starring two iconic actors, James Stewart and Henry Fonda. Like in so many movies, it was the classic battle between good and evil and the struggle for good to get up the courage to challenge evil. Essentially, five bad guys (the "gang") came into the sleepy little town of Firecreek, whose only law enforcement (sheriff) was a mild-mannered farmer who got the job mostly because no one else wanted it. The position was ceremonial at best and never really intended to be exercised. The incentive to be an active, on-the-firing-line sheriff for 2 dollars a month just wasn't there.
When the bad guys started roughing up the town's people, Johnny Cobb, part time sheriff for $2 a month, (James Stewart) decided he had to take a stand even if it meant his life, after the bad guys hung the town's mentally retarded stable boy for accidentally shooting one of their gang members. The story begins to reach a climax when Cobb (Stewart) gets a gun and proceeds to hunt down the gang members, one-by-one. With the last remaining gang member still alive (Henry Fonda) and Cobb's gun out of bullets, the gang member (Fonda) wounds Cobb twice as Cobb tries to reload his revolver. With Cobb's gun empty, Fonda is just about to put the fatal bullet into Cobb, when Inger Stevens, the sultry, almost morose heroin in the movie, takes down Fonda with a bullet from her rifle and the movie ends with Cobb heading back to his farm to tend to his wife who is about to give birth to their third child. We said it was predictable.
The natural inclination and desire of most people, like Johnny Cobb, is to live free and in peace, unencumbered by government, or anyone else for that matter. They avoid violence or taking a stand against violence and bullying, that is up until the time they have become enslaved, or up to the point they have decided not to take it any more and resort to challenging the violence and bullying that is being inflicted upon them.
There are two types of challenges to violence or bullying: a legal, lawful challenge and a violent challenge. There is a trigger point at which a person or group of persons will either capitulate to the bully, run and hide, or stand and fight. America stands at that very threshold today. Do we capitulate to rising government power, run and hide and try to stay below the radar, or do we stand and fight for our freedom? Way too many Americans today are hiding below the radar.
The bullies are everywhere, mostly in the form of government; i.e. politicians, judges and bureaucrats and even socialist and environmental groups that exploit government for their own narrow agendas. Laws are being passed every day to curtail and control our behavior. Many of those laws are driven by international interests (UN's Agenda 21) and are unconstitutional on their face. More of this unconstitutional, international garbage that is secretly woven into American law by presidents, politicians and bureaucrats, is headed in our direction.
The current bully, Crown Prince Obama, just issued Executive Privilege over the matter of the "Fast and Furious Gun Running" scheme, that has cover-up written all over it. That is exactly why Attorney General Eric Holder has been dragging his feet on congressional subpoenas. Something in those documents must be embarrassing to the President, or to Holder himself and a normal, reasonable and prudent person could very easily conclude that they are trying to hide (bury) that "something."
Obama's Executive Order granting virtual amnesty to 800,000 young illegal aliens, bordered on unilateral, chief executive, unconstitutional lawlessness and voter-block pandering. But that's all right. Obama is desperate, self-imploding and disintegrating before the whole world's eyes. He has truly risen to his level of incompetence but Americans are the ones that are paying the price for his incompetence and radical ideology. There can be no doubt. Obama is a socialist ..... or worse!
In retrospect, these politicians, judges, bureaucrats and the President are not much different than the lawless gang that rode into the small town of Firecreek and took over, where a peace-loving, mild-mannered sheriff was the only law and most of the town citizens were out-and-out cowards and not afraid to admit it. This new "gang" uses law instead of guns to subjugate (and rough up) the people. The difference today is, we have 310,000,000 peace-loving, mild-mannered citizens that so far, for the last 100 years, have allowed the "gang" to do whatever they damn well please and America is coming apart at the seams as the pressure builds against the growing tyranny and the pending bankruptcy of our once-great nation. Some of those citizens are even applauding what the "gang" is doing because they are getting a "piece of the action". In fact, the "piece of the action" represents outright racketeering and voter-block pandering at its worst by government. If a private company did this and raided their corporate treasury to do it, the company's officers would go to jail for fraud and embezzlement.
Corruption, double dealing, backroom deals, payoffs and crony capitalism, coupled with waste, fraud and abuse by government, is pandemic. It is pervasive in our culture and exists all around us. But even worse, gaming of the system by the people themselves has become openly acceptable. Just recently we learned from a John Stossel investigative report on Fox News that 72% of workers' compensation and disability claims against private industry are fraudulent. 72% mind you! It would be bad if it was just 5%. What happened to honor, integrity, or morality? Watch this video for more on workers' comp fraud at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWkrMvr1Wd0. You won't believe it.
A cultural mindset of "I want my piece of the action too" pervades the body politic. America is so rich it has been able to afford these attacks on honor, honesty, integrity, our public treasury and the Constitution, by both those that lead us and those that are being led. But America's Bank is broke and we can no longer afford government and "people" lawlessness. It must be exposed and it must be reined in. It should be apparent, however, that you can't expect the government to be honorable, if the people aren't honorable.
Government encourages the people to be dependent on them and a high percentage of the people are so weak they have bought into the propaganda. They evidently aren't aware that once you are dependent, you become a slave and subservient to those upon which you depend.
Because of this long-growing internal decay, our influence on world events grows weaker. We are no longer the powerhouse we once were. They laugh at us in world newspapers and on TV. They mock our president as being weak, stupid and inept. One can argue with confidence that he is.
Our enemies no longer fear us as they perceive us to be indecisive, rudderless and a paper tiger and the horrible fact is, collectively, as a nation, we are. Our differences and political divisions within America are eating us alive. We have become the flesh-eating cancer that is consuming our inner core, our inner strength and our individual and collective courage. This cancer is eating away at the very essence of our lives and freedom, the desire and the commitment to preserve, protect and defend our God-given unalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Where are the Johnny Cobb's of Firecreek that will suddenly realize that they had better "face the world and stand up", or suffer the consequences of ignoring the bully (the lawless, ruthless gang) for far too long? Once the "gang" knows you won't fight, the "gang" wins and ladies and gentlemen, the "gang" is winning.
The longer politicians, judges and bureaucrats are in office, the more likely they will become corrupt, because history has proved that in any government over time, corruption will become the rule rather than the exception. (A powerful argument for term limits in America.)
If there is still a shred of decency, honesty, integrity and honor left in those that cherish freedom and will do whatever it takes to preserve it, we can fight back and win. The rise of the Tea Party was an indication that some are beginning to fight back. "The Parallax Prophecies" predicts that when a sufficient percentage of Americans have had enough, just like Johnny Cobb in the movie Firecreek, they will use their collective power and courage to take down the politician, judge, or bureaucrat that violates their oath of office and engages in corruption; one politician, one judge and one bureaucrat at a time.
When these political miscreants know we are on the hunt for them, they will be looking over their shoulder. When one of them falls to the "sword" of our relentless pursuit of accountability, they will become nervous, knowing that we are dogging their trail and digging deep into their lives and activities. They will begin to fear the people again and liberty could be just around the corner. Maybe we can't vote them out of office because of the stupidity and ignorance of way too many voters, but some of us can certainly expose their corruption and force them to resign, recall them, or send them to jail.
We don't need guns and bullets to defeat the bullies, as Johnny Cobb did in the Firecreek movie. We just need some dedicated patriots that will use the law and engage in a little super sleuthing to ferret out the bad guys and send them packing, not by votes or bullets, but by enforcement of the law.
As Thomas Jefferson once said, "when the people fear the government there is tyranny, but when the government fears the people, there is liberty." For over 100 years the people have "feared" the government as it has grown ever more powerful. It is well past the time for the government to "fear" the people so that the people can restore their liberty once again ..... hopefully without guns.
Can ORDCA turn the tables on a corrupt government that no longer fears the people? Stay tuned to the Parallax Prophecies column as more details emerge.
Next week the Parallax Prophecies column is entitled: "The Constitution - On The Edge of Extinction."
