Blaming government (letters)

We are the government, so we are to blame
We won’t drill for oil here because we listen to special-interest groups.
We trade with a communist country and get tainted products such as dry wall and pet food, yet we still trade with it. We import most of our goods and complain that Americans are out of work.
A lot of businesses have moved factories overseas because of tax incentives, some so they don’t have to adhere to the rules of OSHA, MSHA and the EPA.
Muslim students attending Catholic University are complaining about the "Crosses of Jesus" on the wall in the room where they pray — and we are listening. Preachers are afraid to preach the Word of God. We can have "gay parades" but not Nativity scenes.
We used to complain about sex education in the schools; now it is homosexual education, and no one is complaining. We took prayer out of the schools, and teachers have been sued for wearing cross necklaces.
The Planned Parenthood Federation revealed that from July 1, 2009, to June 30, 2010, it received more than $476 million in tax dollars and performed 329,455 abortions.
More than half of 17 million registered voters who call themselves Christian didn’t vote in the last presidential election.
We say we have a government run amok; but friends, this is a republic — "government of the people, by the people, for the people." We are the government, and we have no one to blame but ourselves.
