It occurred to us that some of you might like to know the roots behind our "Parallax Prophecies" column. Although we have been writing articles for many years on freedom, liberty and property rights, "The Parallax Prophecies" column got its start in August of 2011 from an idea we had about the ever-widening gap between America's two opposing ideologies of liberal and conservative, as in a parallax. Since the first Parallax Prophecies article appeared on blogs, on-line newspapers and thousands of e-mail addresses last August, it has proven to have a growing popularity. But behind the column is our efforts on behalf of the American rural landowner under the banner of the National Association of Rural Landowner, or NARLO.
NARLO has now been active for over 6 years. Some of you may not know how we came about. NARLO actually got its start in mid 2004 (8 years ago) when we and many other groups, along with property owners, challenged King County in Washington State over their proposal to pass a radical environmental ordinance called the "Critical Areas Ordinance". In spite of heroic efforts by landowners and property rights groups to stop or water down the ordinance, the seven Liberals on the King County Council passed the ordinance in the middle of the night on October 6, 2004 after shooting down over 100 amendments submitted by the six conservatives on the Council. Although portions of the ordinance were challenged and struck down in court by a local property rights organization (CAPR), assisted by the Pacific Legal Foundation, the majority of the ordinance is still on the books and yet the ordinance significantly reduces the property rights, uses and land values of rural landowners, that we alledge are in direct violation of the 5th Amendment's requirements of due process and just compensation.
In the process of challenging King County, we learned that this type of ordinance (with its roots in UN's Agenda 21) was being passed in every county in America and these ordinances were forcing rural landowners to bear almost the entire burden of environmental protection, while their city cousins were getting off scot-free. It was as if the government literally wanted to drive rural landowners off of their land and if you read Agenda 21, you will see that is exactly what they want to do.
It became readily apparent that rural landowners were an easy target for these ordinances because rural landowners were essentially disenfranchised from the political process and had little or no representation. The city representatives had all the votes and they were all for these draconian ordinances to protect the environment, that did not affect them or their city-dwelling constituents.
Consequently, from this experience in King County and knowing that rural landowners were under-represented throughout America, we decided to form the National Association of Rural Landowners to at least give them a voice in the political arena and act as their advocate. We are now known in almost every corner of America from our considerable efforts on behalf of rural landowners; from our highly informative and educational NARLO website; from our powerful, legally intimidating No Trespassing signs; from our "NARLO Offense" videos "On How to Beat Government Without Hiring a Lawyer";' from our "S-O-S Kit, 20 Documents For Freedom" and from our numerous articles and essays now appearing under "The Parallax Prophecies" column that reach a significant national audience, urban and rural alike. Remember:
"The brutal reality is that a ground swell of national rural outrage could very well reverse the course of socialism and environmental extremism in America and return us to a Constitutional Republic. Farmers, ranchers and rural landowners could be the catalyst to incite that outrage. Because the land is their power, if they will only use that power ….. before they lose it, forever."
