OBAMA USING CONTRACEPTION AS A DISTRACTION AS HE IS A 'DO NOTHING RIGHT' LIBERAL

Carbon Footprints All Over Obama's Contraceptives MandateGrassTopsUSA Exclusive Commentary

Obama’s mandate requiring Catholic institutions to provide contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs to employees, through their insurers, has been widely condemned as an assault on religious freedom.

What’s overlooked is the connection between the contraceptive diktat and population control spurred by the president’s anti-global-warming crusade. Obama is a radical environmentalist who has embraced the dogma of man-made global warming. While climate-change alarmists rail at energy companies and consumerism, their real target is people – especially those who are having children.

According to this mindset, people are the ultimate pollutant. Humanity is in the midst of a population explosion which is driving us to ecological doom. More people means more energy use and the release of more greenhouse gases – causing the earth to warm, ice caps to melt and sea-levels to rise. Soon, polar bears in Hawaiian shirts will surf by Al Gore’s oceanfront property in Tennessee.

The environmental degradation supposedly caused by humans is reflected in the catchphrase “carbon footprint” – shorthand for the notion that, over the course of his lifetime, an individual will generate so many tons of carbon-dioxide by driving cars, heating and cooling homes, flying in airplanes, consuming manufactured goods, etc.

The expression is used to induce guilt among those who do what comes naturally. When British football star David Beckham and his wife had their fourth child last summer, a U.K. outfit called the Optimum Population Trust had a hissy fit.

Simon Ross, the Trust's chief enviro-nag, berated the Beckhams as “very bad role models for having a large family.” “There’s no point in people trying to reduce their carbon emissions and then increasing them 100% by having another child,” Ross fumed. “We need to change the incentives to make the environmental case that one or two children are fine (generous of him) but three or four are just being selfish.” When leftists call for “changing incentives” to curb selfish behavior, they’re talking about coercion – whether through tax codes, abortion, contraceptive mandates or state regulation of fertility, a la China.

There are carbon footprints all over Obama’s contraceptive edict. The 44th president of the United States is embarking on a social engineering scheme to rival Stalin’s forced famine of the 1930s.

Obama sees job-creation only in vibrant shades of green. (How Green Was My Jobs Program) In his 2009 stimulus packages, $38 billion was set aside for green jobs – jobs the market never would, never could generate on its own, because they make no economic sense. To date, each permanent green job, or con job, created with federal funding has cost taxpayers an astronomical $5 million. But money is no object when it comes to keeping the polar bears from melting and saving the arctic ice cap – or is it the other way around?

Obama’s efforts to kill domestic energy production have resulted in a 100% increase in the price of gas at the pump since the Great Green Father assumed the mantle of leadership. Soaring gas prices, which force motorists to drive less, aren’t an unintended consequence of Obama’s war on energy development, but a key objective.

But even green jobs and artificially high energy costs are a sideshow. The main attraction is Obama’s plan to combat carbon emissions with abortion and contraception – cutting greenhouse gasses by keeping people from being.

What James K. Polk was to Manifest Destiny, Barack Hussein Obama is to abortion. His first official act as president was to repeal the Mexico City Policy denying federal funding to family planning agencies that promote abortion.

Each year on its anniversary, he does homage to Roe v. Wade, reminding us of the grandeur of the Supreme Court ruling that’s resulted in more than 55 million deaths since 1973. On January 23, the president declared that Roe wasn’t just about “women’s health and reproductive freedom” but the sacred principle “that the government should not intrude in family matters” – like forcing families to take one-size-fits-all health insurance?

Joe Biden is Barrack Obama without an internal control mechanism. Anything that comes into the void between his ears is immediately verbalized.

On a trip to China last year, Joe told the Politburo that he “fully understands” and wasn’t about to “second guess” its hideous one-child policy, which is enforced by forced abortions and sterilization and has led to female infanticide. When the predictable furor erupted at home, the White House issued a statement to the effect that of course the vice president opposes these Hitlerian measures – which is exactly what he didn’t say back in the People’s Republic

To run the Department of Health and Human Services, the president tapped the most pro-abortion governor he could find – no mean feat with so many Democrats blowing kisses to Roe. As Kansas governor, Kathleen Sebelius vetoed every pro-life bill that landed on her desk, including limitations on late-term and partial-birth abortions – measures so modest as to call into question opponents’ sanity. Obama voted against them as a member of the Illinois Senate.

In April 2007, Sebelius even threw a party in the governor’s mansion honoring the late George Tiller, a notorious three-fifths infanticide abortionist. The foregoing caused Archbishop Joseph Naumann to take the extraordinary step of requesting that Sebelius, a CINO (Catholic In Name Only), “not present herself for communion." This is the ideologue the president chose to head the department which will be primarily responsible for implementing ObamaCare.

At the bottom of the slippery slope lurks John P. Holdren, Obama’s mad science czar. Like Paul Ehrlich, the original environmental hysteric, Holdren is given to making doomsday predictions that sound like something from a Roland Emmerich movie (“The Day After I Completely Lost My Mind”).

In 1986, the professor of environmental policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School predicted that “carbon dioxide-induced famines could kill as many as a billion people before the year 2020.” In the year 2012, humanity has never been better-fed.

Following in Al Gore’s footsteps in the sand, in 2006, Holdren suggested that global warming could result in sea levels rising 13 feet by the end of the century – which is off by a factor of 10, according to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, itself given to gloomy forecasts

What concerned Republican senators most during Holdren’s confirmation hearings was a 1977 book he co-authored with Paul and Anne Ehrlich, “Ecoscience,” which mused that if people continued to breed irresponsibly (have children), it might be necessary for a “Planetary regime” to “regulate” population growth with an iron fist. The authors wrote “it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger society.”

In 2010, James Jay Lee, who took hostages at the Discovery Channel to force it to broadcast his manifesto, explained it this way: “Saving the planet means saving what’s left of the non-human wildlife by decreasing the human population. That means stopping the human race from breeding more disgusting human babies.” If not for his timely exit from this planet, surely there would have been a place in the Obama administration for someone this creepy.

In an attempt to explain away the above-cited passage in his book, Holdren’s office assured senators that the nominee didn’t write it (apparently, the Ehrlichs slipped it in the manuscript unbeknownst to him), doesn’t believe it and, besides, it was all speculative. And President Obama is unalterably opposed to government intruding in family matters.

This is the tip of the iceberg. Instead of the Titanic, it’s the family which will sink beneath the waves if Obama is reelected. ObamaCare will become an anti-family super fund. Picture this: Insurance companies are told to cover abortion and contraception 100%, but, after the second child, provide no coverage for pregnancies – no prenatal or postnatal care, nothing for deliveries.

Any anti-natal/population-control toxin that can be depicted as a health or wellness measure will eventually be part of ObamaCare. The president’s maniacal pursuit of a lethal cure for a non-existent problem will put the freeze on procreation.
