OBAMA ADMINISTRATION FORCING OIL RIGS OUT OF THE GULF
INCREASING OUR DEPENDENCE ON TERRORIST OIL

The Obama Administration is seemingly doing everything it can to increase our dependency on terrorist oil. Gulf of Mexico Oil rigs, tired of Administration games, are leaving American waters in droves, leaving American consumers at the mercy of terror state oil producers.

The Deep Water Oil Drilling Ban may have beenofficially lifted, but the Administration is appears to be using paper shuffling tactics and administrative games to drive oil suppliers out of American waters. Nearly a third of the oil rigs have left Gulf waters for foreign seas, relocating to Africa, South America and Southeast Asia.

Diamond Offshore's Ocean Endeavor was the first oil rig to flee American waters in the wake of the drilling ban. Citing massive financial losses while waiting for the Administration to act, Endeavor is now operating in Egyptian waters.

Larry Dickerson, CEO of Diamond Enterprises said "As a result of the uncertainties surrounding the offshore drilling moratorium, we are actively seeking international opportunities to keep our rigs fully employed," Dickerson said. "We greatly regret the loss of U.S. jobs that will result from this rig relocation."

Approval for drilling permits now takes an average of three times longer to process than before the drilling ban. In addition to slow permit issuance, the Administration is also burying oil producers under mountains of paper. One Oil executive noted that permit applications used to average 40 pages, but now are over 3,500 pages.

Natural Resources Committee Chairman , Rep. Doc Hastings blamed "the Obama administration's inability or refusal to issue permits in a timely and efficient manner" for "lost jobs and significant economic pain." Hastings went on to say that "Some permits are being issued (but) there are facts and data that demonstrate recovery is moving at a pace that continues to hamper job creation and the economy."

Meanwhile AMERICAN oil remains untapped, and our dependency on foreign oil grows. Given the unrest spreading throughout the Middle East and the Muslim Brotherhood's near total takeover of key oil producing states, it is ridiculous to assume OPEC oil will continue to graciously flow to American shores. Congress must now find its backbone and put an end to this Administration's petty green games. Our economy, our jobs and our national security depend on American oil.
