ICE TO AUDIT 1,000 FIRMS TO DETERMINE WHETHER OR NOT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS WERE HIRED
One thousand companies received notices from the U.S. government alerting them that auditors will be examining hiring records to determine whether or not illegal workers are being hired.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will be inspecting the employers ranging from small business to major enterprises in every state of the nation. The audits are focused on businesses deemed vital to U.S. domestic security, including agriculture, banking, energy, information technology, health care and transportation systems. ICE declined to release the names of any of the companies being audited.
