AB289: Information from Alliance for Natural Health:
The Nevada Legislature is voting on a bill that would create a monopoly on nutrition services. The bill has already passed the Assembly and is now being considered in the Senate. As we told you before, (see second link below), the American Dietetic Association (ADA) has sponsored legislation much like this in over 40 states.
Presented as a bill just for dietitians, this bill actually greatly limits the practice of other nutrition professionals. It denies consumers access to expert advice from nutritionists, some of the most highly educated and well-respected professionals in the field of nutrition.
AB 289 bill effectively eliminates an entire profession and removes all competition in the field of nutrition services. Oppose AB 289 to ensure that you have the right to choose your form of nutritional therapy from as large a pool of professionals as possible.
Requires 2/3rds vote.
Thank you,
Janine Hansen
