CITIZENS OUTREACH
Dear Friends of Limited Government,
With your financial support, we’re driving the liberals and the Democrats (and some wishy-washy Republicans in the Assembly) absolutely nuts!
One looney-left union front organization called (Lack of) ProgressNow Nevada filed a frivolous complaint against us with the Secretary of State a couple weeks ago which had more errors in it than a Bad News Bears box score. Click here to read my response.
We also filed a lawsuit a couple weeks ago against Clark County in an effort to block it from awarding a union-only construction contract on the county jail. A request to dismiss the lawsuit by Big Labor was turned down by the judge, who indicated he might rule in our favor with his final decision next month. Click here to read more.
Heck, we even got some international attention when China’s Xinhua News Agency reported on our national effort to repeal ObamaCare. Click here if you missed it.
On to Carson City…
Earlier this week I participated as a panelist at a special town hall meeting on the budget at the Legislature organized by Assemblyman Pat Hickey. Click here for a full report and recap.
And as you know, no one has taken a stronger no-new-taxes line than Citizen Outreach – a line now shared by Gov. Brian Sandoval and every one of the ten Republicans in the state Senate.
Alas, some “wobbly” Republicans in the state Assembly aren’t quite yet with the program, as I revealed in this Nevada Appeal column and in remarks at the Tea Party rally where I spoke in Las Vegas last week.
We also recently ran a full-page newspaper ad in the Nevada Appeal exposing the fact that Assembly Speaker John Oceguera was stealing gun legislation from his colleagues. Click here if you haven’t seen it.
That ad, by the way, might have had something to do with why the Johnny O got into a twitter-war with me on Thursday:
@JohnOceguera: “RGJ: In down economy, education key to youth jobs”
@chuckmuth: “No, the key is employers. W/o employers, even a PhD won't help.”
@JohnOceguera: “round&round w/ @chuckmuth again”
@chuckmuth: “@JohnOceguera: Same broken record BS”
@JohnOceguera: “I am leading the way bc colleagues and thousands of voters elected me to. you would call it a voter mandate
@chuckmuth: “If you had campaigned on the secret tax hike you're planning, you'd have a mandate. You didn't, so you don't.”
@chuckmuth: “If you want a mandate, next time stand for something and don't be afraid to run on it. Political cowardice is no virtue.
@JohnOceguera: “ it's no secret. if we want to save ed in #nv, we must raise some revenue”
@chuckmuth: "You mean raise TAXES. On who & by how much?
We went back and forth like that for a while - but in the end the Speaker quit the exchange without ever telling the Twitterverse what taxes he wanted to raise, on whom, and by how much. Go figure.
In addition, Citizen Outreach continues to issue regular Brushfire Alerts inked by our Carson City lobbyist extraordinaire, Janine Hansen, keeping you informed on upcoming bills and who to contact to support or oppose them.
Which reminds me: If you haven’t yet signed online petition urging state senators to support SB177, the “Let Those Who Ride, Decide” helmet choice bill, click here
Plus, we continue to publish Nevada’s best, most comprehensive news blog, Nevada News & Views, where thanks to editor Lori Piotrowski you’ll find “right”-thinking Nevada current events and opinion, all in one place, which you simply won’t find anywhere else on the ‘net.
Which reminds me, if you’re not getting Lori’s daily Nevada News & Views email alerts, click here to subscribe.
And don’t forget Muth’s Truths, where I regularly slay liberal dragons and expose naked liberal media bias. Click here for last week’s latest, outrageous example.
And finally: If you haven’t heard, Citizen Outreach will be hosting a Republican presidential candidate debate at our 4th Annual Conservative Leadership Conference in Las Vegas in July. Click here for details and online Early Bird registration.
All of which is to say we have a lot going on - and why I refer to our organization as more of a “do-tank” than “think-tank.”
And we’ll continue to do more on your behalf. But as Morton Blackwell of the Leadership Institute is wont to say:
“You can’t save the world if you can’t pay the rent.”
So please help us continue to help you…and the taxpayers of Nevada…but making a special post-Tax Day contribution to our efforts…. $100, $50, $25 or even $10 would be a great help.

The 2011 Legislative session is more than half over….but the hardest, most dangerous days are yet to come. And it’ll be fast and furious.
Help us be ready to fight the Left on your behalf!
Thank you for your continued support.
Chuck Muth
President
P.S. Gov. Brian Sandoval is getting POUNDED every day by both the liberals and the media (but I repeat myself) for promising voters that he wouldn’t raise taxes and then, heaven forbid, actually keeping his promise.
Now, I know he’s been a rock…but everybody needs to know they have support from their friends and can use an occasional “Attaboy!”
So if you have a minute (AFTER making your contribution to Citizen Outreach!), click here and send the governor a short note of gratitude and let him know you have his back!
