KILL OR INTERROGATE ???

Is murder better than interrogation?

For years Obama and the left have criticized the Bush administration for their interrogation tactics. They have lamented against Guantanamo Bay and even likened those who believe we need to take a strong stance with terrorist suspects as terrorists themselves.

So what is their solution?

Under Obama, instead of capturing, detaining and questioning terrorist suspects, the CIA is just killing them with drone missile strikes. How is that any more humane?

Now, instead of learning from these dangerous suspects about potential terrorist attacks planned on the U.S., its allies and its military, we are just killing them---along with that information.

This is not progress.

Immediately after being inaugurated, Obama ordered the CIA to follow the U.S. Army Field Manuals interrogation rules. This is a guide for military interrogators and includes strict limits on using physical force against detainees.

If you believe that terrorists should be interrogated for information that could protect AMERICAN LIVES, please CLICK HERE. Blast fax congress and tell them to STOP investigating our OWN people and start investigating the people who want to KILL us! It's time to MOVE ON from the rhetoric and begin taking a hard look into what will really make our country safe!

This manual is available on the Internet. All Al Qaeda has to do is study the manual and learn how to resist the CIA's interrogation techniques.

Does this make America safer?

Why are we using a manual that is readily available for terrorists to study? The level of ignorance and lack of forethought by this administration is astonishing. Instead of trying to learn information that may protect America from another 9/11 attack, they are investigating the CIA to determine whether it broke the law by conducting brutal interrogations during the Bush administration.

One of the world's most dangerous terrorism suspects has been apprehended by Pakistani officials with the help of a CIA tip. However, the Obama administration has not sought custody of Umar Patek, nor made any attempt to interrogate him.

Seems kind of funny, considering a $1 million reward was offered for his capture back in 2005. The CIA believes that he possesses a vast amount of information about Al Qaeda-linked groups in Southeast Asia.

So why aren't we interrogating him?

Because Obama is afraid to flip-flop on yet another campaign statement. He promised to close Guantanamo---that hasn't happened. He can't interrogate any suspects without being accused of following in Bush's footsteps.

During his campaign, Obama constantly criticized Bush for everything terrorist-related. Since his inauguration, he has reversed every one of his statements.

This, of course, leaves America weakened.

Pakistani officials are giving Patek over to authorities in Indonesia, where he is a suspect in the 2002 nightclub bombings that killed 202 people. Seven Americans were killed in the bombings, yet there are no U.S. criminal charges pending against him. Pakistani intelligence says that no one from the CIA has even asked to question Patek.

U.S. officials say they expect the CIA to be given access to what Indonesia's interrogations learn. OH GOOD! More hope! Let's just HOPE that Indonesia lets us see what they learn, or maybe even let us sit in on the interrogations.

Are you kidding me?

We need to be taking control of the interrogation. The information that Patek knows could be a gold mine to our war on terror. We can't expect another country to ask the necessary questions. We have our own questions that we should be asking!

Blast fax congress and tell them to STOP investigating our OWN people and start investigating the people who want to KILL us!

Republican lawmakers claim that the U.S. would be giving up valuable intelligence by not detaining and questioning suspects captured overseas on our own.

Senator Saxby Chambliss, the ranking Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee says that "it is a shame that our administration has made the decision to defer to others to pursue the detention and interrogation of our enemies," He goes on to say, "now we'll have to rely on a foreign government to grant us access to this terrorist to obtain vital intelligence, if we're lucky."

This isn't a safe way to fight terrorism. We just can't rely on another country's interrogations to protect our interests.

In 2010, the CIA and Pakistani intelligence officers arrested Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, a Taliban military leader and described as one of the most senior Taliban figures captured during the entire war in Afghanistan. Pakistan still has custody of this man, and the CIA does not have adequate access to him.

So now we're just supposed to hope and pray that another country gives us access to the men we need to question in order to protect our country?

This does not benefit or protect America.

It's not safe to rely on another country to protect us. We need to take control of the interrogations and protect ourselves.

American citizens need to INSIST that we be allowed to interrogate terrorist suspects that are caught thanks to OUR intelligence.

Sincerely,

Tony Adkins
