Illegal Alien Beat and Blinded Elderly Woman
Last week, illegal immigrant Jose Perez-Gonzalez, 31, was sentenced to 11 years and eight months in San Mateo County Superior Court for a brutal attack on a 78 year-old widow which left her blind and unable to care for herself. The attack happened on January 12, 2008, when Perez-Gonzalez, who was living in San Francisco, broke into the victim’s home. When confronted by the elderly widow, he beat her repeatedly in the face with a metal pry bar leaving her permanently blinded and near death by the time police arrived after being alerted by a silent alarm triggered by the break-in. Following the attack, Perez-Gonzalez fled back across the border to his home town in Guadalajara, Mexico, before being brought to justice.
